Bit of an over exaggeration there. I've been watching us 10 years less than you and can think of far worse performances from numerous players in the time i've supported us. Would agree that his 2nd half derby performance was horrific though.

Still, he's too old now and shouldn't be starting. He can still do a job on the ball mostly, but off the ball, he's a liability.

Maybe. But i said "some of the worst" not "the worst" batch of performances. I think he has been horrific for 3 months now. He wasnt too bad last year but had a poor year the year before. So to me he has been on borrowed time since he came back from injury couple of years ago. Pre injury i thought he was a fine player. I look at him now and apart from 2 decent passes last night and assist earlier this month i cannot understand what he offers to the team. This notion that he makes us tick leads me to state well if he has been the one to makes us tick and play like we have been doing for last 2 seasons i want to get a club hammer and break that watch into 1000 pieces. Nothing personal against him . Anyway i spend too much time posting about him ill sound like a complete nutjob.

Can't lie, given his form over the last three or four weeks, I was a bit worried when he replaced Barkley but Barry was actually very effective and played a couple of really good passes.

Obviously with Gana buggering off to Africa for a bit Barry may well have a few more starts coming up, but as an option off the bench for the last 15 to 20 mins when we need a bit of brain to see a game out, he could well still be very useful.

there's plenty worse.

Every time the opposition get the ball they're essentially playing against 10 men. He cannot cover any ground whatsoever, everything just sails past him. It's an absolute embarrassment to watch him, there's no way he should be playing football at this level in his physical condition.

Massive well done to the club by the way, whoever's doing the transfer negotiations (I have a sneaking suspicion who) should pat themselves on the back. Haggling over £2m like we're still beggars for a player we're in absolute desperate need of, causing us to play a crippled old man and get dumped out of the cup at the first hurdle. We'll sign him on Monday now, but it's too late, the season is gone before our eyes.
