I haven't watched a second of this programme (I don't do magic and dragons, thanks), but basing a TV show on an incomplete series of novels is asking for trouble. Eventually the TV show will be generated by screenwriters rather than based on the book - where does the author go from there? What if they release the next book in the series and fans massively prefer the direction the book has taken? Will they refilm the TV series?
