Also, if we're gonna be pedantic about the story line, they could of just said to Dany to flame that group of whitewalkers- it'd be game over then.
It's been thoroughly established that the White Walkers are not at all bothered by fire. The Children of the Forest set a fire outside the entrance to the Three-Eyed Raven's cave and the White Walkers strode straight through it. The Night King walked straight through fire just before he pinged Viserion.

Oh yeah, one other thing: *have. They could have just said to Dany...

Aye, forgot about that & fire. Although flaming the dead folk infront of the main guy would of created a direct path for him to taste some Valaryian. There would of been less*undead to deal with..
*FEWER

dragon could have legit killed everyone at the meeting and that would have been the end of show. Some really stupid plot holes [\spoiler]
This isn't real life. It is a TV show for entertainment. If they just torched everyone, it would make for a bit of a crap ending don't you think.

worth an entire season of dross for that, magnificent from start to finish
Best episode of this season, by miles. Also the first episode to include any actual intrigue: what a coincidence.

Littlefinger's entire story arc has been virtually non-existent since he packed Sansa off to marry Ramsey Bolton, so no surprise to see him culled - but the echoes between his end and those of Ned and Catelyn were subtle, fitting and satisfying. I am quite certain however that GRRM will do much more with him in WoW than D&D have managed in the show.

Thought for a moment Jamie Lannister was going to get squished too - first instance of genuine peril in the entire season, and a scene very well acted by Lena Headey.

Teleportation issues remain, however - Sam Tarly makes it to Winterfell from the Citadel, with wife and child in tow, in the same time that the Unsullied take to march from Casterly Rock to King's Landing.

All Jon snows fault, as I said about last weeks episode... if he had just got on the sodding dragon like everyone else instead of playing hero and trying to pointlessly kill more skeletons they would have had three dragons and the white walkers wouldn't have burned down the wall.

And what does he get for his collosal screw up ? To bang the bird whose baby (dragon) he was responsible for getting killed.

What a [Poor language removed] he is

It is a massive plot contrivance. Did the Night King know the dragons were coming? The 3 spears being ready suggests that but was that their plan this entire time? How exactly is he supposed to know dragons are going to come and give him the opportunity to kill one and enslave it as a wight? In the books there is the Horn of Joramun/Winter which is rumored to be able to bring the wall down but this way seems awfully convenient and unexplained.

Sansa manages to get every guard and person in the Winterfell hall to play along with her surprise trial for Littlefinger without him knowing about it. When Littlefinger gets accused he doesn't even fight the accusations.

Jamie finally is on the path for long overdue character growth. Finally Cersei has crossed the line in his eyes. Cersei's plan with Euron is so strange, she really isn't understanding this whole 2 dragons> 20,000 men from the Gold Company thing. She is also definitely faking that pregnancy. Some people wonder what Tyrion said to make her pretend to agree to the truce and how that will come back on him what with him looking all concerned during the boat sex.
