In the books I think he was supposed to be with the Umbers.

isn't davos getting sent off to find him to rally the north to stannis

wonder if great jon will come back in the series, no chance he will side with the boltons, and the frey alliance will probably be over, most of the umbers were loyal to stannis in the books weren't they, half of them anyway or something like that

Could well be the "Promise me Ned" oath too like. Who knows.
Its clearly a follow on from the last episodes ending.

Because they have broken their oath, or not as it were.

Be good if it was the other one though, make that character much more significant

He won't be coming back due to a scheduling conflict.
Might rejig the deaths a bit, dead irritating for continuity, or just grab one of the younger sons.
They were deffo split in the books.

That's a shame, suppose to be one of the finest fighters in the land and we never really got to see that, apparently they cast a big fella rumoured to be his son/nephew, who would have been loyal to stannis. There's also the Black fish and his nephew to consider

Blackfish is a roaming around causing mischief, the nephew from memory was a Lannister prisoner.

We know how the show treats the finest fighters in the land, pisses on their chips. See Selmy.
