New families form to replace the obliterated ones. The iron throne remains. The saga of intrigues, politics and violence to obtain the throne will never end. No one learns anything. Somewhere in the north a new Night King is seen. End credits.

surely all the characters journeys etc have to mean something? i would be surprised if its completely bleak...

Is it bleak though? It just shows that this particular tale comes from a world and history so vast and rich that this is but a mere facet in that mighty jewel. We don't know anything but stories about the first men or the children of the forest and one day, in this world, the same will be said about the aftermath of the Mad King's death and destruction of the wall.

good point, they could do a camera zoom out on the whole world or something..

I reckon an epic battle but the hound loses and dies however during the battle the mountains armour has been decimated and he is now exposes and unprotected so I reckon Arya will finish him off.

Is the Hound off Arya's list? If he isn't, I think that's a pretty tough call from Arya. I reckon him being left standing would be a good thing. For all his bluffness, he has been one of the more human characters in the show for me.

Is Gendry the true heir or Jon? I really hope we don’t see some Gendry/Arya marriage to unite the north and south.

I think people largely seem to be forgetting about Gendry. Has as much right to sit on the Iron Throne as Jon and Dany do. His relationship with Arya is even hinted at during the very first episode of the show when King Robert suggests to Ned that they join their houses.

They're both on it. Or were before the hound saved her life anyway.

reckon it will end with them realising the iron throne is helping cause the misery, dragon melts it down, democracy is born

I think the Iron throne might be reforged but I think the dragons will be dead by the end.
If Jon and Dani are also dead, I expect Gendry to be the ruler with Arya as his Queen, (with Sansa ruler of an Independent North?)

I think Both Cleganes will have duel. The Mountain will mortally injure the Hound, then Arya will kill the Mountain and say a few consoling words to the dying hound...actually giving him a mercy killing after the consoling words would be a good call! ;-)
