Full of Optimism today!

Love his work rate, but 50% passing last week. Not even close to acceptable.

seriously...who needs stats to know hes 5hit? Eyes is all thats required! Its his failure to be able to pass 5 yards with the correct pace that gets me...and also the amount of times his first touch is his last.

wins headers though (y)

...this could look a silly thread tomorrow.

No kidding. I'm going to hold off until after a result against Newcastle in 6ish hours. A win today could put us in 4th. That'd be cool. That'd be worth getting excited about.

Until then, we're still in the middle of the table and just got booted out of a cup competition.

West Brom just beat United at old Trafford, Cardiff beat City and Norwich have strengthened well with a top striker.

1 in 6 so far. Not scored since first game of the season. But if Martinez has already proved himself to be world class then I suppose van Wolfswinkel has shown himself to be a top Premier League striker

Minus Ben Arfa, Newcastle are proper dump with a terrible manager. If we turn up tonight there's f'all they can do to stop us. We should comfortably beat Newcastle at Goodison and hopefully we will. Let's see if Bobby has learned from the Fulham game. No jarg formation and no Heitinga will lift my confidence in him even more.

The replies in this thread shows me a lot about your personalities. Glass half empty type people. Always looking for faults and can't see the ambition I visualise and determination. My characteristics shine through, I'm positive. No offence, but I'm fed up of hearing the same old "mediocrity"

In fairness most of the replies have been about you being way over the top. Just because a poster points this out doesn't mean they are negative and one of the doom merchants on here.

I think we are great and like what I see of Roberto and am confident of a win tonight. However i think you are getting ahead of yourself with what you are saying. See?

And to say that somebody criticising Naismith has not watched him is harsh. His touch is abysmal. Simply not good enough at this level and hinders us when we want to move forward quickly.I want to see less of that in the team now that we have a new manager with new ideas. I love the work he puts in and his attitude but he looks a very poor footballer unfortunately. I think he will soon be replaced by Pienaar or Deulo. I'd only use him maybe if we are to play as we did against Chelsea and need an outball as he was excellent winning stuff in the air.

Forget about the goals, he works tirelessly every minute he's on that pitch, he has heart and he does a good job. I'm fed up of hearing people slate him now, you probably don't even watch him.

I can run around for 90 mins whilst passing to the opposition.

It's good that you are positive mate. I just think a lot of us are aware that it is early days with a new manager and whilst the positivity from our manager is a breath of fresh air, we are only 5 games in and 3 of those were disappointing draws.

It's is easy to get carried away after 2 wins, but there's certainly nothing wrong with that. Some of us are probably scarred by previous times we have had the chance to go unbeaten or "go up to fourth in the table with an easy win" only to be dissapointed.

Absolutely. I'd actually stopped studying the table before the weekend as I was always working out where we would be after we won our easy game and other teams slipped up. So many times we just couldn't take the pressure.

I'll admit I did again for the first time this weekend and was dreaming of a draw for Sunderland and us to win to put us in third. So far the first parts not happened and lets see about the other. Think we will win but if not I'm going to avoid tablestudying for a long while.

The league means nothing until 10 games have been played. I'm
Not lookin at the table, I'm looking at our club and everything that is building it to be what it will be. We have a great management team and we have great players who are not egotistical or arrogant. I love everyone here and if we are a club destined for success
