There is no army, most people don’t get offended easily. A vocal minority on twitter etc plus a few cases reported in the media every couple of weeks is not reprenstitive of some massive army of “woke sjws“ taking over society.

Its just another load of overyhyped culture war bollocks designed to make people not focus on stuff that actually matters.

I come back to my desk and read through it one more time.

Every word has to be internally vetted against possibly 'offending' an ever growing army of people out there, who seem to be offended by everything.

I work with a good number of new university graduates.. a few dozen over the last year or so. I'd say about 1/3 of them are woke, moaning cryarses. No idea about the real world or life, only what Instagram et al tells them.. hopefully the other 2/3 wipe them out before they reproduce.

As in if you are 'fighting injustice', anyone who disagrees with you is by definition not fighting injustice. Even if they firmly believe there's simply a different way of doing so.

So the definition becomes corrupted, so that 'woke' becomes a derogatory term because it's used as a shield for nonsense.

The thing that amazes me is that "cancel culture" literally IS free speech. I'll defend someone having an opinion even if it is blatantly wrong but to think you can lie with impunity with 0 repercussions is insane. "Cancel culture" is saying "screw you, I'm not supporting anything you do because of your insane opinion".

It's because these people are the snowflakes they accuse others of being that they don't realize that is a bit funny.

What has any of this got to do with what the term actually means ? the term has only become massively popular within mainstream society in the last year or two because its become the new buzz word to mock and blanket label people who complain about racial/social injustice. It's the new 'SJW'.

Sure there are some extreme people on twitter who perhaps identify as 'woke' and have the mindset you describe with regard to 'if you're not with us, you're against us' but it's not evidence of some massive movement that is causing huge harm to society, it's a load of overhyped bollocks that shouldn't be getting anywhere near the level of attention it gets relative to far more important issues.

There's a reason cancel culture/wokism has become the number 1 focus for the GOP despite it effecting a miniscule percentage of the population relative to real issues.
