Francis Jeffers Left Wife ‘Fearing For Her Life’

Perhaps the club are aware of more to this story than the paper/clickbait headline suggests. I'm not defending him, but some women are quite capable of knowing exactly the buttons to push to wind somebody up to breaking point. We hear a lot about physical violence from men, yet the mental assault - the persistent whining, digging and bitching that is in some women's arsenal often goes uncommented upon. Who knows how people react at breaking point? What kind of idiot pushes somebody there? What's more suffering such a mental assault makes a weak defense when verbalised to anybody who hasn't experienced it.

I'm not saying any if this is how it is - but we don't know the whole story of the facts that drove him to these threats, how hollow they were, or how much his wife MAY have overreacted on hearing them.

Havent we all made our parents angry as kids, and them threaten to kill us? I know I have - and I never once 'feared for my life' - but if I wanted to for a court, to score a point, and had the words of an idiot conveniently typed on a screen as evidence - then I could have easily be conveniently fearful.

Some social warriors will now likely round on me for having dared try to look at or imagine the story from the other side and not automatically join in with the herd mentality of trying to look good by joining in the attack. I shall not rise to the bait - just hate me - I'm from a sticks and stones generation.

Having postulated all this he should still he slung out simply for having fled to arsenal and telling Rooney to do the same. Never warmed to him.

Yeah women and also men can drive each other to the point of mental break down. The fact is women can cheat on you, wind you up over it - pack off without warning - get with a mate, discard you for someone richer and you're helpless over it. (not happened to me by the way, but I've seen how it impacts people)

The Icardi and Maxi Lopez saga is a good example: Lopez wife was having an affair with Icardi - left him for her, got married, took the children and knowing his football career would prevent him from being able to see them at certain times etc - and now Icardi got his kids tatood on his arm. He musn't have taken it well.

Also - @Tin-Tin throwing about toxic masculinity? you're a part of the problem.

The worrying aspect in all areas of football support is that the default position/opinion from too many supporters is always 'sack him/her. Its a position thats taken with only information gleaned from our somewhat unreliable media, without any deep understanding of a case. Any case. Its as if the minute you join a football forum you immediately become an expert in human resourses.

Because people like Ferguson kiss the right arse, so these losers are kept close to the club but ex players with a winner's mentality like Neville Southall can't get anywhere near Finch Farm because he's called the board out for years,

I don't know why Jeffers was brought in to help out with the kids and I don't know why we felt we had to let Baxter come and train here because he threw his own career down the swany, two players that swerved Everton
In Jose Baxter’s case, he didn’t leave Everton to benefit financially, in fact he was out of work for months. Moyes offered him a new two year contract at 50% less than what he had previously been getting. He declined and until Alan Stubbs got him fixed up with Oldham Ath.he had no job. Later on he did let himself down, he is now back with Oldham I believe.

What's the actual story with Baxter? Was she on the lemo a lot?

He looks like he's turned himself around and for that I applaud - tough times don't last, tough people do.;

Not sure what he done, didn’t he get caught with drugs in his car whilst with his mates? I remember seeing him on the steps of Wembley when we played Liverpool in the semi final thinking he should of been part of the squad that day or at least in a club suit.

He was released for that without charge - I believe the reason his career fell down the ban was due to failed drugs tests - twice - he got away with one saying he was spiked.

A combination of A and B: the car incident were 'associates' of him who, if suspicions were correct, mutually benefited from Baxter's access to cash to fund...

Not a fan of Jeffers...

Looks like hes gone out and seen his ex mrs with another bloke and sent a few nasty messages.

I think thats all there is to it. Just lost his head. Seems to be a one-off.

The fact that it ended in court suggests its more than a few drunk texts
It's really important we speculate about the context when it comes to men threatening to kill their wives for some reason.

The old 'she must have done something to deserve it' reasoning.

Wouldnt claim to know but i have heard of some extremely bizarre court cases these days.

Irony is she probably used his money for the legals lol
