i sure martinez has scenarios planned. fellis replacement is already clear. and i see him to be a man who actually has plan-Bs

I'm sure he's got replacements lined up. And who knows, with the £23m or so and £75k off the wages Martinez could get 2-3 good players with that. I almost think it would benefit Martinez selling Fellaini as he could buy the sort of players that would suit his ideas.

I could see Gibson and Fellaini being an ideal platform in central midfield for him to build a footballing style around similar to that he played with Wigan and Swansea unfortunately.

The fact he could afford to bring in Honda, chadli and say defour and Guidetti in from the felli fee just shows why it wouldn't be the end of the world

Yeah same. They looked good together in the last few games of the season, particularly the West Ham game when we destroyed them.

If anything I think we could have a stronger squad for it next season. Fellaini is a very, very good player but that money and other sales plus whatever Bill has promised Martinez could give him a great opportunity to create the squad he wants at the first opportunity.

I agree totally, its why im in favor of him going even though he is top quality, also why im in favor of not just one big signing with any fee but rather use it to strengthen the starting 11 in the 3 weak areas we have, am, winger and if felli goes cm, all areas that martinez has a good eye for in the past, left striker out as if we slot players into the starting 11 it frees up kev to play more pushed up plus jella would benefit from the service

I think that's the approach Martinez will take. I.E. buying a few good players as opposed to splashing it on one player, I may be wrong though. I don't think our squad is big enough to just get one quality player but I suppose it depends on availability/prices. Like you say there's at least 3 positions that need addressing so it will be an interesting summer for sure.

Look lads, I'm stood here with my Fellaini shirt hung out on the washing line in the back yard and I've got a lighter in my hand.

I'm good to go, so do I set light to it or what?

Plus mate i think Martinez will be aware that if he did throw it all for one player and he flopped it would be used to hang him with by some, so hes smart enough to not throw all his eggs in the one basket, plus on the surface anyways he seems to have a good overview of the game and will see the areas he need to address.

Im cautiously optimistic for the first time in a good few years that done the right way we can push that 4th spot/cup run regularly

Yeah good point. As I said he's made a point about how he feels squad rotation is important so I think he will go that way. No more Osman blowing out of his arse after 60 minutes hopefully.

I'm optimistic because I feel change was needed and we've got a fresh start with a young exciting manager. I'm actually really looking forward to the pre-season games this time round too.
