Fellaini

So he's been played in the withdrawn role all pre season, how does everyone think he's faring?

I'm still probably one of the few who remains unconvinced about it being his best position. Profligate in possession at times and combined with Gibson we can look a little sterile in that area. I know he's capable of those Roy of the Rovers performances in centre mid but I still think his best form has come playing further up the field. It's not as elegant to watch as we'd like, but it's effective.

Throw into the mix concerns about our forward line and I wouldn't be surprised to see him pushed back up there a few months into the season.

I think roberto's CM withdrawn role is different to the way moyes played his CM. They seem deeper under Martinez, also seems like neither Gibson or Fellaini have any real licence to get forward. Maybe I'm wrong tho.

Think Fellaini has been average tbh. Certainly not like a 25M CM, but it is only Pre-season I suppose.

Would swap for Rooney in the drop of a hat.
Would also not be dissapointed if he was sold and replaced with both capoue and Mcarthy.

Love Fellaini but I'm starting to think his value in cash is worth more to us moving forward than his value to the team.

its pre-season and as I think keeps being repeated its a chance for some players to get used to their new roles and keep free of knocks. That means for Fellaini.. no taking the mickey out of nasty defenders, just simple passing and covering. The players who have put in dynamic performances are the ones trying to catch the manager's eye.

So long as we can reinvest the money in a decent replacement I have no problems with fellaini being sold

Baines is the one we can't lose

Back page of The Mirror running that Moyes' is ready to meet his release clause after missing out on Cesc Fabregas. If Moyes does this now then what a ********, all pre-season we have been preparing with him in the squad only to have a vital piece of the puzzle taken when the season is just over a week away.

yes disgraceful by moyes if this happens. taking his own failings in the transfer market out on us.

Without his goals we would have finished much lower. He was incredible for the first half of last season. Can't understand why people are so happy to sacrifice him

not sure. my fear is that we will struggle for goals again this season - and fellaini the only one who is guaranteed to get 10+ really.

He was unplayable at times but I felt that he was played so that our over all football and also goal scoring suffered as he's such a presence where he plays that there isn't really room for other players near by.
