Fellaini wants to leave Everton?

Contract- What difference does it make if he has 4 years or 2 years left on their deal? Arteta, Yobo, Rodwell and Cahill were well in contract and it didn't have any bearing on their price.
Age- Martinez (24), Garcia (25), Rodwell (21), Allen (22), N'Zonzi (23), Song (25).
Internationals (caps): Martinez (8), Garcia (1), Rodwell (2), Allen (9), N'Zonzi (6 U21), Song (34)....Fellaini (36)
Injury: Only Rodwell has had significant problems.
Prem Experience: Doesn't that only matter if the buying club is from the Premier League?

Song is as close as you're going to get to Fellaini. Same age-ish. Same amount of caps. Song got 11 league assists and 1 goal last year. Fellaini has 3 goals and 4 assists.

Modric! Are you serious?? He pulled the strings in a side containing Van der Vaart, Bale and Adebayor and will be competing with Ozil and Di Maria for a game at the Bernebeu.

You are living in absolute dreamland. PSG spent £49m on Ibrahimovic AND Silva, but you think we can get £40m for Fellaini? Kenwright and Moyes would never let a transfer drag out over months and months like Fabregas, Ronaldo or Modric which is what we would need to do to frustrate a suitor into meeting our asking price. And defensive-minded midfielders won't command the same sort of fee as someone who can unlock stubborn defences.

Not Really no. Any player who has consistently performed in one of the biggest, toughest and highly skilled leagues in the world is something that any club, regardless of league, would not sniff at.

Fair point, it depends which club comes in for him and how much they are willing to spend at the end of the day

Ronaldo and Fabregas for example were only ever going to one club. The players were fairly patient about the move, so it was up to the buying club to drive it through. Chelsea are in most need of someone like Fellaini but have already spent a lot of money this year. If they decide that the want him at all costs we might be in luck.

What are the options otherwise? Barca have Song and Busquets, Real have Alonso and Khedira, Bayern have Martinez and Schweinsteigger. His demeanour might count against him too because billionaire owners might want players who look graceful.

Alonso will start to appear less and less for Real imo, Mourinho will be looking for another defensive player to step in there.

I see Chelsea and Real being the two most likely suitors.

Perhaps we rate Fellaini more highly than people outside the club? Maybe Everton are seen as rough-asses and Felli is the target that we lump the ball up to. Continental managers might be concerned that he's not cultured enough and that his physicality will be wasted in leagues where they mostly play the ball on the floor.

Then they shouldn't buy him.

I would think so too. Alonso is still only 30 though. I'd have expected Barca or Real to move for Martinez ahead of Bayern. Maybe the Spanish economy has affected their spending power?

Chelsea could definitely do with someone like Felli. In fact I would have thought that he would have been a priority target this summer while they had money to spend and were clearing out the old guard. Maybe they don't fancy him?

Italians can't afford him. German's (aside from Bayern) can't afford him. If he's not the style of player that they're looking for at PSG or in Spain then it will have to be a Premier League move. The less clubs are in for him the lower his price is likely to be.

Yeah pretty much.

Besides that a bum view, any manager worth his salt knows he is a top player. **** even the motd crew finally figured that one out.

He mate next time he is in your shop ask him if he knows where you can buy a full stop.

He has over 4 years to run on his contract so we hold a bit of a strong hand, also if he wants to put himself into the 'shop window' then he'll have to continue playing as well as he has lately. Moyes has continually said that he rates Felli as the best midfielder in England so I can see him going for a fee that is higher than most think we'll get for him . Maybe as much as £30m

alonso had no pace anyway, he plays the scholes position, and can play it for another 3-4 year easy.
