Marouane Fellaini will miss both of the upcoming games with Liverpool.
The Belgian was cautioned in the second half of Everton's game against Hull City on Saturday.
Referee Martin Atkinson was an unpopular figure at Goodison as he showed Fellaini the yellow card just after the break, seemingly indicating a series of offences.
He will now miss the league game at Anfield on January 19 and the FA Cup fourth round game six days later.
Fellaini had already scored Everton's first goal in the game with a header after 18 minutes.

Should've been booked. Reff warned him after 15minutes for all the fouls he was making. Makes another in the 2nd half - gets booked.

More or less he was getting booked for blowing his nose near a player never mind a tackle. He was on a tight rope at 15minutes in.

Should've been subbed at half time for Vic, dropped Cahill behind.

But......derby's aside I'm glad he'll be back for the Arsenal game, a game we can win big time.

It was a booking all day long, the ref gave him a last warning to, no need to make that challenge, both player and manager culpable IMO.

He didnt commit a single foul for the rest of the game. He looked seriously gutted for the rest of the game. I think he knows hes let people down. The kid has to learn.

I agree. He looked like a pale shadow of himself after the booking. Fellaini is a player that will get booked, though. It's part of how he plays football. So Moyes should have brought him off when it was clear that we were in control of the game. I blame Moyes more than Fellaini for him missing the next games.

well done moyes!!!!!!!!!! can't blame the ref, the big fella shouldn't have been booked 9 times before today. we honestly can't blame the ref. game was won at half time. don't bother getting your hopes up for the derbies.

Debatable booking - I would have said no considering what the referee had been letting go. As I said in the match thread, Fellaini would have been a prime candidate for a red in the derbies, so I can see the thinking in keeping him on.

I think the next challenge he made was always going to result in a booking. He had been warned a few times before. It wouldn't have been a booking in a normal occasion IMO

game was over..

could have brought castillo on or anichebe and dropped cahill back. there were options. the decision to leave him on put a huge dampner on this result.

yes... he should have been booked as it was his 5th foul and persistant fouling warrents a yellow.

but the bottom line is that moyes did not protect him. he was on his last warning and it was as matter of time before he was in the book.

Hull are no mugs, i watched there last couple of games and make no mistake about it they could have gotten back into that game at 2-0 down.

Right so he misses the derbies, but we have three points in the bag today, and hes back for Utd and Arsenal which are immensely important games, the day i think we are [Poor language removed] in a derby by missing one layer is the day i give this lark up.

Three point is three points if its against Hull or the [Poor language removed], i just want to state that im not afraid of those prats across the way at all. A draw in the cup and a replay in the cup at the very least.

Personally its one where i would have liked to see the ref think a bit, maybe take into consideration the possible ban and having just started the half and let that one slip, however i can't argue with the booking. In Fellaini's defense, his foot was going across the defender, who he got to the ball ahead of, and was charging in head down. There was one later on that was more 50/50 and straight on that the ref let go,

Problem might be that we lose the two games against Liverpool, and Fellaini returns to a team that has lost a little bit of its spirit. I really do believe that Fellaini could have made a difference in those games. If not, then why did we pay £15m for him?
