It at the bare minimum shows that they had no problems getting shots off. (When you're strike force includes Bendtner its not surprising only one goal). They had a good 5/6/7 troubling shots for Howard and on another day, they score more.

Can't ignore the fact a team has come to Goodison had 27 shots.

That's a huge amount of shots, especially for an away team. Perhaps if we came out of 2nd ger they dont get as many, doesn't mean it should be ignored though.

Wolfsburg were poor so they shouldn't have had that much time & space to pepper our goal and they could easily have scored 2 or more. Howard made at least 11 top drawer saves, of which 2 were outstanding.
Europa group games seem about McGeady's level & I have no idea what Atsu must have done not to get game time ahead of him.
Eto'o just oozes class and has show in two cameo appearances that he is well worth his money. Looking forward to seeing much more of him in the near future

Don't be daft mate. Howard made three great saves but the rest were routine stuff that I'd rip into him if he conceded from.

Because we aren't a moneyed or a big team in the eyes of the media and they well underrate us and the quality of our players and squad.

Wolfsburg had real quality going forward, so that was as impressive a defensive and goalkeeping performance as you will see

I think if he probably means that we have a better chance of winning the Europa league and gaining CL qualification that way than we have of finishing 4th in a year when when no little than 7 teams all think they have a realistic chance. I would agree with him.

If would be a better achievement if we won the Europa league and gained CL qualification that way. I'd prefer we did it that way too, CL qualification through winning a European trophy over finishing 4th any day.

Overall really happy with last night against a good team. Reckon at 3-0 and 60 mins gone Bobby should have sacrificed McGeady and brought on Gibson or Besic to get in their faces more and try to retain possession. Tim was immense in goal. Stones was top notch along with McCarthy.Jags looked better although shaky in possession. Naismith gets better evry game he plays. Dont get people bashing Lukaku. The diff in him in the last 12 months is huge. His all round play, control, awareness has increased by 20% and he will only get better. Great to have a player of eto's quality to come off the bench and wh a ball for Kev's goal. Speaking of Mirallis, real change in attitude this season and is starting to stamp his style on the game the way Pienaar did for years. Hel be a huge player this year.
Great first night in Europe for us.Bobby is true to the way he wants to play the game but one thing, we are the most exciting team to watch (says with few more grey hairs today!!) Pity about the clean sheet but will take that into next game on Sunday

I thought we played really well, i thought first half we were in control and they didn't really cause us any problems, The time when they started creating chances and attacking us was when we were 3-0 up, the game was won and they had nothing to lose so they could just throw people forward and attack us more, we didn't need to waste energy throwing people forward at 3-0. Very good performance against a good side.

What I loved about last night was when Eto'o came on and they read his name out, I can't believe we have him at our club and he seems to really embracing it and enjoys being here. Football Legend.
