I actually thought we we're pretty poor to be honest, especially second half. Wolfsburg absolutely battered us and will be wondering how they have managed to lose that game 4-1.

A win is a win though and that breeds confidence. Some really good defending in our own box for once.

Jagielka's distribution is worse than my 1 year old nephew's.

We allowed them to.

Makes good reading

Just thought as well, looking at that...we've given Wolfsburg a serious goal difference problem now. They've only got 2 games to make up a minus 3.

Is it done on head to heads like the CL groups?

Was the away end very full? That could be 3,000 empties just there.

I couldn't really tell mate as I was in the Lower Bullens on the same side as them so couldn't see, although there seemed to be a decent amount of them from what I could tell, and they were loud when they were in full voice (which was rare tbf).

True though, possibly. As for us, the main stand looked full apart from the odd block of seats, the park end looked almost full as did the Gwladys end, obviously I couldn't see the UB as it was above me.

Thanks.

Yeah they did sound loud on the telly at times. Gutted I couldn't make it tonight, looked brilliant.

We allowed them to.

If by 'allowed' you mean they forced us into giving the ball away regularly and starving us of any real meaningful possession, then sure. They were good off the ball and like most teams this season sat in their own half letting us piss around doing nothing in our own half.

We didn't get out of second gear, but at the same time Wolfsburg could have had 4/5 themselves. We took our chances, thankfully.

I think it speaks volumes that the on-form HOward broke the record for saves in one match in a Europa League game too.

Wolfsburg had 27 shots. 27.

Also, I feel sorry for McGeady at times, don't get me wrong, sometimes he makes the wrong decision and whatnot. He seems to be so isolated at times and he'll get the ball and there is literally no movement around him. Didn't think it was a coincidence that he improved when Eto'o came on.

No worries mate.

Did they show the away end much on the telly? Did it look empty/full?

Nope, cameras are above you in the Bullens so didn't see them. I'd expect the Park End and the Street to be full, then Main stand Top Balcony and the back rows of the Bullens are where your empty seats will be. There were a lot in the corner of Main Stand and Park End as well, that funny corner block below the TV commentary box. That usually sells out last.

27 shots and 1 goal. Doesn't really mean much does it mate. We were in 2nd gear all game and didn't need to do much more than that. Quality performance and if we had decided to up a gear would have won by 5 or 6 goals. I think it speaks Volumes when Howard makes a lot of saves straight at him
which doesn't count for much. Great win, great team performance and keeps us ticking along nicely

We rode our luck in the second half, but it must be a sign of how far we've come as a team that we can beat a team full of World Cup performers 4-1 and people are still moaning about the performance.

We controlled the game from the minute we took the lead.

The fact that we sat back after getting to 3-0 and they applied some pressure means jack. If they have bagged one we had another 2 gears left in us to push on if we had to. The 27 shots means knack all

It at the bare minimum shows that they had no problems getting shots off. (When you're strike force includes Bendtner its not surprising only one goal). They had a good 5/6/7 troubling shots for Howard and on another day, they score more.

Can't ignore the fact a team has come to Goodison had 27 shots.

That's a huge amount of shots, especially for an away team. Perhaps if we came out of 2nd ger they dont get as many, doesn't mean it should be ignored though.
