Fantastic Guardian Article

I'd wank till my knob fell off if we absolutely battered them this season, home and away. Would be glorious.

It's a bittersweet article.

On one hand I wholeheartedly endorse anything that sheds light on how above their station City and Mancini are.

On the other hand it makes us sound like we're a plucky little club, like Wigan, surviving against the odds.

Our fans getting so upset over a comment from someone who they think is a prick doesn't help that view.

Best way to deal with comments made by someone who you think is a prick and you think and demeaning is to ignore them not cry like a girl over it like people are.

Exactly. Instead the majority have all fumed over a player they don't even rate.

The article is just a celebration of being above average when the current premiership champions manager utters the word "win" in context to a team who haven't won anything since 95

To be honest I find that article more patronising than anything Mancini might have said. These "plucky little Everton" articles piss me right off. The full quote paints a slightly different picture, too. Yeah, Mancini's a tool, but he didn't say what the article said he did.

That article manages to troll both Evertonians and Citeh fans if you ask me.

United fan.

Were where city not too long ago in the doldrums of the now league one, crumbling stadium and club in decline, yeah they picked themselves up got back to the premiership again relegated came back up and backed by countless millions what gets my goat is all the city fans laping it up as were the best it comes across from the management of the club due down too sheer arrogance how they conduct themselves in the media aka the lescott saga, how ex evertonian hughes was treated would they be anywhere near with the investment not likely whos to say city perform badly this season like when leeds won the title would mancini be there not likely as with all bilionaires play things its only a matter of time not if only around this time last year that they were uming and r ing about if hes the right man to do it at city so city fans enjoy it whilst it lasts and have a bit more consideration to teams like everton who spend well within means as once you were like us

It was a comment about the way we play, moist might be over cautious and negative but he hardly plays to not win, of course he plays to win its how he does it and how that might impact on a players performance.

Most of our fanbase say the same damn thing after we draw or loe at home to some crap side.

Mancini spent about a billion pounds and needed a last minute winner in the last game to win the league. After going out in the group stages in the CL.

The luckiest manager of all time.

I am far from a being a fan of Mancini, but hands up how many posters speak a foreign language. Hands up how many speak a foreign language fluently. Hands up how many speak a foreign language like a native speaker.

It's feckin difficult to speak a foreign language properly. It is dead easy to screw up. (I know from personal experience).

I don't know whether he meant to belittle us or whether he just made a mess of what he was actually trying to say.

At the end of the day, is anyone really bothered that Rodwell has gone? He got a lot of stick (or at best indifference) in various threads about the new season, starting XIs etc, and 12m possibly rising to 17m for someone who either hasn't performed/fulfilled his potential, or has first dibs on the Goodison sick note 3 seasons running, to me doesn't seem bad business, especially if it gives Moyes some funds to strengthen our weak points (here's hoping).

So Mancini can say what he likes, I don't care. We are Everton, with our proud history and fierce spirit. Very rarely do we lie down and die for anyone. We don't need journalists to defend us. I am proud of who and what we are, even though it's not perfect and not ideal. If nothing else, Moyes can give Mancini a pasting on the sidelines next time we play them. Again. COYB!

I personally took it as he's gone to a club that plays to win silverware, not a stab at Moyes and how we play.

He talked as in - Rodwell's got good potential but he's now at a step up in terms of playing to win things, which is different for him. Which is true.

But we just entered fume mode over a player no one's too fussed about being sold

If Premier League football is about anything it is about teams like Everton, whose professional pride and competitive work ethic gives the moneybags teams someone to play.
