Gomes has a special affinity for the number, it’s what he wore at Valencia and Barca, he arrived before we let Besic go out on loan so the number wasn’t freed up for him to sport

Be an ever present in the side for over a decade helping us to multiple European qualifications, a cup final and scoring the majority of any goals worth seeing during the period? I hope one of them does go full Leon Osman.

In many ways I love Brand’s thinking that it’s better to sign lower ranked players from top teams than a lower ranked teams top player.

Obvs each case is individual.

He does give us plenty of options to switch to a proper midfield three, too, which is sound.

I'm a lot happier with this signing than when it was initially brought up. For one, the price is fine. I imagine the wages are relatively high but if we can get Schneiderlin off the books it's covered that way.

I think its a great deal if it ends up being Delph IN / Besic, Schneiderllin + McCarthy OUT
