Payet is a very good player. However he is nowhere near even being in the question for player of the year like some of them are going on about him being a dead cert for. To give it some context. Barkley has scored more goals, and created more assists than Payet. Even Barkley, who has had a far more productive season hasn't been the best player this season.

Lets give it some context . They beat us on penalties last season when we were at a low ebb losing successive games, whilst playing against 10 men for the majority of the game.

Mccarthy's tackle as we have said a number of times was completely fair in the eyes of the law, and Payet got injured as he took the cowards way out.

The supposedly world class Payet was then anonymous in the return fixture for 80% of the match. They did manage to beat a side who played with 10 men for an hour by the odd goal. That makes it 2 wins in 8 years (both against 10 men). Forgive me for not being terrified at the thought of them.

We are the favourites for a reason. We are miles better than them and most people can see we have underachieved by throwing stupid games away, while West Ham have reached their pinnacle this season of potential finishing 5th and getting to a quarter final.
