FA Cup Draw - City V Arsenal semi final

I know it's hardly rational, logical thinking, to feel down about this, but it's natural.

I really hope this season picks up before the end.

Yes, it's all petered out a bit...like last year. I hope we can get back on a winning horse, but it's all been a bit deflating of late

The wheels have fallen off, results-wise. It's not good, whatever way you look at it. Sure, we had some tough games lately, but we're supposed to be competing with these teams. And we lost them. All of them. And got spanked for four in two of them, including our local derby.

Under Moyes, we often did come back with a bang after grim weekends and sort our form out. I hope Martinez can get into the lads' heads and get them playing again, because we've been generally average for too long.

At the moment, unfortunately, for this season at least, it looks like the stats that mean the most will tell the same old story. I hope we can smash a few teams between now and May and maybe even beat a top 4 side to show that we can turn this type of form around and can start to show what an Everton passing side that also scores goals looks like.

Typical Everton this isn't it?!

Whenever a favourable draw comes up, we always go out softly.

Wigan 2013, Liverpool 2012, Reading 2011, Oldham 2008, Leeds and Brentford in the Carling Cup too, it's hard to not be absolutely gutted isn't it?

You just know with our luck, City would have won about 7-0 today anyway!

We lost to both Chelsea and spurs by free kick of which neither were and had Lukaku been on we'd of won both. Liverpool game was nowt new

can't beleive it.

i can only echo the thoughts of many. if we had managed to beat arsenal we would have almost certainly lifted the cup.

Devastating result for the club :(

We didn't go out softly against Arsenal...even at 2-1 we were well in the game, and we competed very well against a team with to some degree more gifted players than us. The last two goals were conceded when we were trying to chase the game, although we had run out of steam a bit by then. Arsenal have been playing at more or less the top level for many years...our game has only recently started on the road to that level.

I should repeat here that should we have beaten Arsenal the whole course of events that followed would have been different.

The draw may not have been the same. City might have beaten Wigan.

I'd be happier.

But there's no point dwelling.
