Toto says he wants a rule introduced to remove a crasher's fastest time... and to be fair to him I reckon its a good idea.

That aside, I don't see how anyone can suggest that Leclerc's crash was deliberate. His performance yesterday shows just why many people who have watched F1 for a long time rate him so highly, while at the same time showing that he's not yet the finished article. Its going to be scary how good he is in another few years when he's got 100+ starts underneath his belt and approaching his peak.

Norris also confirming that he is on a similar trajectory. Absolutely awesome performance from him and quicky ending any real argument of Ricciardo as a potential world champion.

I thought it was inevitable someone was going to clip a barrier yesterday. I think that every year at Monaco to be honest. In terms of new rules I think they shouldn’t disqualify him. Just let everyone who didn’t complete that last lap have one out lap and another go at getting a time. Qualifying is boss as it is I think so don’t want many changes to it.

Ferrari think so, but they won't gamble

I would, if he starts pole and gets to the first corner first it's just a case of if it holds out or not to whether he wins. Start 5th and you are not winning in a dry race.

Plus Monaco he doesn't have to push the car to the limit, he can back the pack up and stop the chance of the undercut and then give it some just before the pit stop.

Verstappen win, Hamilton DNF

Thats my prediction. Verstappen would only have a 9 point lead even if that happened.

Fancy Lewis. He will be trying to make up places early. However wouldn’t surprise me if Max messes this up when he has a genuine chance to gain serious points on Lewis.
Verstappen will be desperate to get past LeClerc in a Ferrari that is at least a match for the Red Bull around Monaco.

LeClerc will be determined to stay ahead at home.

My money is on them two coming together.

It wouldn't be that simple in practice because some drivers would be on target to improve and others not, and the tyres would also be past their best too.

As an aside, don't forget that Leclerc also lost nearly the entire first practice session with a car issue, which makes his pole even more impressive. Difficult to believe that he has 8 poles already in his career, twice as many as Verstappen.

Its a very long race and a lot can happen even at Monaco, so I think there will be opportunity for Hamilton to move up positions. Perhaps an early SC would allow him to try an alternative strategy.

But that is contingent on him actually having better pace than those around him, and I don't think that's the case. He is not out of position, he's just slow.
