Everton Youth Teams Thread

Nathan Holland played for West ham last night in the cup.
I recently watched highlights of West Ham U23s beating Swansea 5-2 and Holland was very impressive, probably MoM. He was playing left wing first half and scored a good goal with his right foot after about 30 secs. He helped set up the next two goals, the fourth was a gk mistake giving the ball away and being lobbed from 30 yards and the fifth was Holland bombing down the right wing driving the ball across the goal resulting in an own goal. Jack Bainbridge ex our Academy was no5 for Swansea.
Holland , like Brewster and potentially Broadhead , possibly suffered from being in the " Golden Generation " era and not being able to get into the U23s after a promising u18s career. Good luck to him.

...looking forward to watching Anthony Gordon this season, presume he'll be a starter against the Reds on Friday?
Last Saturday's u18 game was a group game in the u18 PL Cup , so maybe seen as a chance to give some others ago and rest the likes of Gordon, though it was a fairly strong team, so yeah should start Friday you'd imagine. I'm hoping to see Fraser Hornby back too.

...yep, good luck to the lad. Holland reminds me lots of Sean Doherty, who I watched from his junior school days. Sean was a gifted schoolboy international winger, a bit lightweight and controversially moved to Fulham from Everton but didn't quite make the break through. Indeed, Sean ended up at Sligo where his dad (Everton scout Mick Doherty) went over to watch and spotted a certain Seamus Coleman. £60k and the rest is history. Funny how things work out.

Delial Brewster seems to be on the fringes at Chesterfield - started a friendly for them yesterday and scored 4 before half time!

Calum Dyson was supposed to go out on loan but it feel through. Won Grimsby young player of the season last year so needs better than occasional U23 games.

A reminder the u18s game v Liverpool is live on tv this week,With Everton u18s having the chance to go 2 points from top, after winning there last 2 league games

FRIDAY 22ND SEPTEMEBER-
LIVE ON LFC TV AND THE INTERNET-7PM KO
LIVERPOOL U18S V EVERTON U18S
...for information. Worth a watch, young Anthony Gordon impressed in the summer tournament.

I have a river for anyone interested.
Yep, I PM'd the members above.

Duke McKenna is looking OK, our forward line is big and their central defenders seem a bit iffy. Our keeper is apparently US youth team with eligibility for Brazil and Denmark. Our fullbacks having a bit of a torrid time but central defenders seem confident.

Added: we should be 1-0 up when the keeper was lobbed but it went wide.
