Sometimes you have to let the players play. It's one of the reasons that Sir Alex was so good for so long. He never truly joined the counter attacking trend that was becoming so popular in the 2000's. It might have cost him in Europe a bit late in his career, but he still had his teams competing for league titles despite their urgent need for talent before his retirement.

..stood next to him at Bellefield many years ago watching Everton v Manchester United in the Lancashire League. Ryan Giggs was an unknown youngster. Every time he got it, SAF said " take him on, enjoy yourself". It was an insight and much different from what our coaches were saying.

Maybe... and with those four missing, tonight's performance must be considered respectable at the very least. Derby coming on strong, but the young Blues doing okay to still be in front.

Is he. I never rated him. Seems perfectly happy to pick up his wages loafing in the reserves. Just the kind of player we need rid of.
