That or he's got a loan move lined up. Hopefully the former
Yep mate, he's good enough to be starting for us (IMO like) or at least given some game time.

I just find this so much tripe from Koeman. We had Unsworth saying at the end of season 2015/16 that Kenny, Dowell etc were ready for 1st team. He never gave them a look in and what exactly did he do to help develop them? As far as I can see nothing, they were left in U23 for a year, same as Walsh. If he'd done last season what he's talking about now then I would have taken these comments seriously.Koeman admits Everton man’s future unclear, potential for loan deal
Everton starlet Jonjoe Kenny is unsure where his playing time may be this season despite shining for England U20’s this close season, with Ronald Koeman admitting the starlet could be sent out on loan before the transfer window closes.
The Toffees boss has admitted that he is holding off on making any decision in relation to the 20-year-old’s future after his surprise omission for the Europa League ties against Ruzomberok.
Some Everton fans were surprised by Kenny’s absence, with the youngster seen in some quarters as a natural replacement for the injured Seamus Coleman.
After captaining Everton U23s to winning their respective league title in 2016-17, the versatile defender was also a key player in England U20’s World Cup triumph and as such Evertonians believed they may see him gracing the Goodison Parkturf this forthcoming season.
But, with the purchase of Cuco Martina and Mason Holgate’s ability to offer right-back cover, it appears the Blues boss has other ideas.
“We know that we have several options for his position with Mason Holgate, with Cuco Martina and Kenny – and, finally, the best will play,” Koeman told The Liverpool Echo.
“Of course, we are looking at the development of young players and what we did with Dowell was the best way to develop the player.
“And at the end of this pre-season we will take a decision: if Jonjoe is not really close to a position in the first-team then maybe we will think about what the best is to develop the player.
“They did a great season last season in the under-23s and they need to make the next step. It is really difficult for young players to get a place in the team.”
Koeman has shown during his time at Everton that he is willing to give young players a chance to play, with Holgate, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman all having opportunities in the Premier League.
Kenny looks set to have a bright future at the Goodison Park side but the most-important thing for his development currently is regular senior football.
With this unlikely to be available at Everton, it looks like it will suit all parties if the 20-year-old spends the upcoming campaign at a Championship club and returns to Merseyside as a better player in nine months’ time.

I would understand if he let Kenny go out on loan (I wish he was playing or had the chance, but Holgate, Tommy and Martina at the very least have minutes under their belt). I would really question him if he let Lookman go out on loan though...he's the manager, not Unsworth. You and I might disagree but he feels they're not good enough and that's what he's paid to do.

..I question him if he fails to move us on. The manager is paid to make decisions, you won't complain if we are a success this season and Lookman is at Derby County. I'm a fan of Lookman, I'd be very surprised if RK sanctions a move but if he does then that's his decision.
We'll look back on it and say "hindsight is 20/20," but it would be strange to get rid of something we need as an option in the team. It would especially be odd because of the amount of games we SHOULD have this season, but as you said it is his decision. I am allowed to have pause because of it though..I question him if he fails to move us on. Fair enough, but where was the sense in bringing on a deadbeat like Kone in our last home game? A few minutes' experience for a youngster like Williams or Kenny would have been of far more use to us than giving a last hurrah to a guy who'd basically milked us for four years.
BTW, we beat Bangor 2 - 0.
I understand that but he's not being consistent. Primarily my frustration on this matter comes from the fact that I believe we've got a very talented bunch of youngsters. This age group have helped win the U17 European Championship & the U20 World Cup. That is first time an England side have won a world competition since 1966. Everton have a large group of players in this group. I've watched youth players for last thirty years and for most of that time there's been the odd player at a time. This time we've got largest group of talented youngsters I can remember and if we waste them it will be criminal...he's the manager, not Unsworth. You and I might disagree but he feels they're not good enough and that's what he's paid to do.
This was the team:...presume our U23s have just been beaten by Brentford reserves;

This was the team:
Everton U23: Chris Renshaw; Danny Bramall, Callum Connolly (sub Morgan Feeney 45 mins), Lewis Gibson, Luke Garbutt (sub Matty Foulds 45 mins); Josh Bowler (sub Sam Byrne 45 mins), Jack Kiersey (sub Alex Denny 45 mins), Nathangelo Markelo, Pawel Zuk (sub Anton Donker 45 mins); Nathan Broadhead, Anthony Evans
It looks a bit of a pre season friendly mix. I must be missing something, in those U19 games in Prague last month Pawel Zuk looked ineffective and nowhere near capable of playing for the U23s .
