Everton Youth Teams Thread

Ty has a glorious smile

Really hope this loan works out for him, his spell at Wigan was difficult and he's had a rough couple of years overall. Seems a genuinely lovely lad in his interviews.

Hopefully Sunderland will play 3 at the back and Browning will be RCB and Galloway LCB. Unfortunately I can see them both playing at full back on there respective side. They both could ideally do with games in there natural position but I suppose if they get 30-40 games anywhere it will give us more of an idea if they are up to standard.

Intriguing that we started Danny Bramall at right back and Alex Denny as a centre back for both halfs. Bramall usually attacking mid with a bit of pace and Denny normally central or defenceive mid, probably big enough to play CB and the only player from our u18s. Maybe both just filling in at these positions , but nice to see some experimentation to see what they are capable of in different positions .

With all the summer activity we have had and is likely to continue.. do any of last years youth stand a chance?

Those that broke through obviously have the best.
Lookman I feel is in the plans in the least populated part of our team.
DCL might find it harder but should get some run outs
Holgate - depends on injuries I feel. Won't be first choice but should get game time. Hopefully in the middle

Of those that haven't broken in:
Dowell - considering our lack of talent out wide I would hope he is give a shot. Can he move centrally? Feel it's make or break for him this season.
Walsh - he is fighting in the most stocked part of the team in my opinion. Klaassen just arriving. Rooney on the way if he plays a little deeper. I feel Walsh doesn't play as a typical number 10 but would like to hear from the experts who he needs to dislodge as an example of his true position? I would love to see him break in, but else 1 season in a team no lower than the championship might prove him. Maybe a newly promoted side?
Jon joe Kenny - ready. Put him in!

So why I started this was to ask the question.. would you want to see a Sigurdsson (or another) coming or take a punt on youth?
Do we have that patience and mentality to promote our own or with our new cash we must drive for NSNO?

I have always leaned to promoting youth, especially when I didn't consider the new acquisition to be materially superior and the youth in question could reach that level just with a chance. Dowell and Walsh I feel can reach the level we want, but need a chance to prove it. I cannot think of a RB I would rather see come than given Kenny a shot. Thoughts?
