Everton Youth Teams Thread

I do not think there is any division in direction of our Academy.

It is Mosh´s way or the Door.

Unsworth looks to be very well regarded by our Persian Leader.

I think we are going to see a lot of players go on loan this season and the spotlight will fall a lot more on Big Joe´s role.

..I was chatting with somebody from USM FF last week and he said the changes up there are significant. It used to be quite 'homely' but there are so many people up there now the atmosphere has changed.

you'd think some of these lads would want to move on at this stage for first team football elsewhere.
still no word on robinson signing but he must have.

Thing is mate they all have something about them. Probably not good enough for the prem (although you never know how much they can continue to develop as players) but good enough for a professional career. We have to offer them a contract to ensure that we can command a fee when/if they move elsewhere. These guys have decided to accept the contract as it at least offers them some security (and some income) until another club comes in for them. I think they probably will know that their future careers will not be with Everton as the academy team are pretty honest with them.

Wasn't Jones in the most recent Wales squad?. You'd think he wouldn't have much problem finding a club.

Yeh that's what I mean, they'd all get clubs at championship or league 1 level and will probably go on loan this season anyway. Just wonder why they bother signing 1 year deals. Suppose they're maybe hoping to get longer deals next summer but comes a time when they'll just have to leave like ledson did

As I said mate we had to offer them a contract so that farce with doesn't happen again. I imagine they probably accepted the contract offered as it gives them an income and security of employment for another 12 months in case another club doesn't come in for them. I'm pretty sure we won't stand in their way when a club does come in and if we can't agree a fee we'll let it be set by tribunal.

I can imagine exactly that.

We are finally living up to our motto.

Some of the changes will cause growing pains.

Unfortunately, it will be harder for our youth to break thru at Everton, hence the importance of getting our lads some really good loans. I am delighted to hear talk of Walsh at Villa and Browning and Galloway at Sunderland. They are big clubs where the boys will be under pressure to succeed in front of good crowds.

It is a far better flight simulator than the under 23s.

I know people on here mock him, but Esk reckons he's accepted a job in the Middle East. It does seem his role has diminished somewhat over the last few years with Unsworth coming more into prominence and taking over the u23s.
He may have taken a job in middle east but I was told he was sacked and that he was very unhappy about it.
