Everton, West Ham and Newcastle leading calls for Premier League's Big Six to be hit with points deductions

Hilarious that they had to ‘agree’ the punishment with the 6 clubs. Like when is that a thing?

That’s the most telling wording isn’t it. Thing is they know full well that this will blow over, that fans of all the other clubs will continue to pay money , continue the TV Subscriptions and so on and that all the talk of a closed shop, how unfair it is and so on, won’t matter sadly.

As someone else said I don’t know if I can be bothered anymore. Ever since the top four CL Places were a thing the competitiveness has had the edge taken off it, clubs are expected to “know their place” and so on when the league itself is supposedly a competition.

Given what keeps happening with us too, I do question if I can be arsed anymore, if that makes me less of a fan so be it.

Should have just banned them from the European competitions for a year, not necessarily to allow other English teams to replace them there, just to punish them financially. But, of course, these clubs always knew they were in a no lose situation from day one, they either get their long wet-dreamed of European Super League or it falls through and they know full well that if the status quo remains the spineless UEFA and football broadcasters in this country won't bat an eyelid as they'd rather let them screw them than lose them. Ah well, at least we have a manager who knows right from wrong and it would never occur to him to get involved with a club remotely interested in such shabby goings on ......... or maybe not.

Im watching more Rugby Union now than football,it's been commercialised to the hilt,so far removed from the game I grew up with. There will be a European Super League because in the end TV and the revenue it generates will demand it.

Wow that's a big threat. If you form a new Super League and stop playing in the Champions League we'll deduct you 30 points so you can't qualify for.... The Champions League :red:

There should be a compulsory purchase by an act of Parliament.

Remember Acts of Parliament are not subject to Judicial Review.

The football establishment are experts at giving the illusion of competition. Play offs, relegation spaces, europa league spaces, have all given the illusion that ‘every club has something to play for’. Most teams outside the top 6 are so preoccupied with moving up or down the football pyramid that they are completely blinded to the fact that unless a Leicester type miracle occurs, they will never ever win the premier league ever again. The tv companies whip up such drama about these mini competitions ‘the race for the play offs’ ‘race to avoid the drop’ that fans of these clubs lap it up and get a massive reward for simply staying up or being promoted like it’s an amazing thing.

Then there’s clubs like us, maybe Wolves will soon get there, maybe Leeds if they have a few seasons without relegation worries. Where a club knows it’s probably too good to go down, but also that FFP has pretty much shut the door to ever winning the league. You might snatch a top 4 spot or the odd trophy if you have a miracle season, but will we ever get to a point of having a squad absolutely rammed with talent that can take on the top 6 season in season out challenging for the league? No. The system doesn’t allow it, everything is stacked against clubs trying to do that. Once you realise that the premier league becomes absolutely dispiriting.

There’ll be executives in offices of tv companies, bookmakers, governing bodies, praying that us Leeds Villa Wolves slide into relegation problems in the near future so we can go back to worrying about that and forget that the product we’re watching isn’t actually something we can ever win. Whilst we remain in this dangerous place of seeing the truth for what it is and talking about cancelling subscriptions they don’t want this to happen.

That’s why I’m convinced you see so many teams getting relegated from the league rather than kicking on. Bournemouth Stoke etc. after such long periods of premier league cash they should be stable enough to push on to upper mid table and challenge at the top, but one by one they get ushered out the league because it keeps the whole thing going. The less ever present mid table sides outside of the top 6 they can have the better for the product. I guarantee Burnley will go down pretty soon. Leicester have been the only exception to this since the premier league started, a team that has been promoted and actually stayed up getting better and better. They too will soon realise though if they haven’t already that they won’t be allowed in the top club any time soon for an extended period.

They've set the precedent now. If we can, obliterate FFP.
Nope, the game is rigged. If we blow FFP wide open, not only will the Sleazy Six vote to sanction us, so will every other club in the league. They'll unanimously nuke us. Our problem is that the Sleazy Six are against us - and so are the other 14. It's those parasites who refused to take points off the Six. They are holding the whole thing to ransom. All today shows is that the Six actually have more of a case than they have been given credit for. That's how craven the other 13 are.

So, we break FFP? Book will be thrown, make no mistake. We're trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea.

They didn't actually form anything, it lasted 3 days, I don't know what people are kicking off about and/or expecting? To exploit it for their own gain? To "get one over the RS?", pathetic faux outrage. Our owners would have jumped at the chance if we'd been invited. Let's face it, they were never getting a huge financial punishment/deduction/ban because let's face it, if they can threaten to ruin the game by forming a super league, they hold far more power than anyone else. Football is ruined, my mate is going absolutely ape about this and hasn't shut up on whats-app all day. It's ridiculous.
