Everton: we look an unhappy camp

We'd played by that time a lot more fancied teams than we have this season. NOW it gets tough and our trajectory is already down over two and a half months.

In any case, I'm not panicking, I;m concerned that this Koeman project has hit the wall and looks done already.

What would that be? Play pretty much the same way as Marinez, Same formation, Same approach bar the passing around at the back

He's come in and changed nothing, We still don't press, We still look weak in defence and we don't look motivated

And it's that easy to just chop and change 60% of the starting xi is it?

The last two teams who tried that sort of revolution in a oner were Spurs and Liverpool. Both had terrible seasons both parted company with the manager who oversaw it Scabby lips and AVB.

You have no idea.
I'm not suggesting anything of the sort. I'm suggesting a corp spirit needs to be forged because likely as not they'll have to live with each other for a good time yet.

It's not after a solitary defeat, Eggs. This is a third of the season in and an appraisal of where we stand right now and where we're headed once half the season is over (which will be the case after the Leicester game away on Boxing Day).

I dont like the runes I'm reading here, the mood music is all wrong and it's a concern after a bright start has been thrown away and looks more and more like an initial new manager boost rather than the arrival of a better method.

....we had an 'atmosphere around the club' thread last week. Folk know my view that we've not played well all season but obviously winning games keeps things relatively upbeat.

I accept we are in transition and RKs priority might have been making us more difficult to beat but losing isn't as bad if we are providing an attacking threat. I just ask how busy are opposing keepers. There isn't a fluidity about our play, we don't get players ahead of and around Lukaku. I appreciate and welcome that our full backs aren't recklessly marauding upfield but I can see why RK wants more from all of his midfielders.

I agree mate but there comes a point when it has to stop, there is always one or two figureheads find them and remove them.

The worry is that he can't get this group performing

He's got a decent team yet we are struggling against some of the poorest sides in the league

Yet he can't get them doing something as simple as press

He plays 2 defensive midfielders every game leaving the only option to punt up to Bolasie or Lukaku as there is too much space between them and Barkley.

Its ridiculous...then he comes out and blames the players every match when hes putting in players returning from injury or out of form players in ahead of others.

Can you (or anyone else) highlight a game where we have had an unfavourable result this season and Koeman has not blamed the players?

Literally every single game he blames the players...if i had a manager like that and was on £50k+++ id probably switch off too.
I think after the Palace draw at home he held his hand up a bit. Hopefully behind the scenes he's doing a lot more of it. I say all this because we KNOW what this lot are like: they'll sink any manager who they dont like.

With the right backing Koeman will get it right, still convinced about that. Will take time to clear out the dead wood. Massive clear out and squad overhaul ahead. Too many players proving they are not good enough to play for Everton.

What changes has koeman made so far since he joined us that makes you confident in his ability to take us forward?

That goes for every club in the league, Like it or not players rule, He's no getting them onside and it will be his down fall

Well ye's doing it to himself by playing 'captain fantastic' after a poor run of games.

I thought the four game win streak augured well for a more intense game plan. Even though they could only sustain it for 45 minutes per game it looked like we'd turned a corner. However, that has turned to dust and all we're left with is an appalling brand of negative football and increasingly poor results.

It's going to have to come to a head. I can see Southampton mauling us and the aftermath will be massive.

Dead wood you say

Williams,Coleman,Baines,Jags,McCarthy,Gana,Del,Kev,Lukaku,Barkley,Barry,Bolasie

Decent players wouldn't you agree?

Why can't he get that group performing?
