Only chance we've got in this is to go for it with a lot of hunger and look to put them to the sword early.

If we press them back and take some of the chances we've been wasting all season, it's doable. However, I think we'll have to score at least four over the two legs to progress - I think our defence is still awful.

I'm quietly confident for this one. Obviously hoping for a win at Goodison but a draw wouldn't be the end of the world, would mean City having to come at us at the Etihad and that plays into our hands for the counter.

My team:

Joel
Coleman, Funes Mori, Stones, Baines
Barry Besic
Deulofeu Barkley Cleverley
Lukaku

Howard, Lennon, Mirallas, Galloway, Kone, Osman, McCarthy (don't play him till 100% fit possibly in the second leg)
I like the post. Xx

Will be a tough game this but it was always going to be tough against city, I feel we have to get a win in the home game and could do with winning by two goals to take a bit more of a lead into the away tie. Nervous and excited about this game but it's class to be involved in these types of big games, it's what it's all about. We have to have a right go at them and leave everything on the pitch for both games, lets be positive. COYB!!!!!

I really want to see this sell out, or get very close. Sends a message to the players. I want them to know how much we want this.
Its going to be well short of a full house by the looks of the e-ticketing web section, say c 35,000. There are seats available in every block. And if that is the actual attendance then that would less than 30,000 Evertonians would have bought tickets for the game -- a cup semi final! Very poor.

I keep looking at the eticketing and it is a bit disappointing.

January is a tough time for some though, with a very expensive xmas just out of the way.

I'm hopeful the game tonight will peak interest a bit and sell more seats.

Any ideas how away goals work in this?

13.5 In the Semi-Final ties, if the aggregate score is level at the end of the second game an extra half-hour shall be played. If the aggregate scores are still level at the end of extra time the tie shall be decided by goals scored away from home counting twice. If the teams remain equal after this procedure the tie shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the Laws of Association Football.

A bit weird that.

Anyway, cannot bloody wait now. I hope the fans are patient and fully behind the team tomorrow. I have been guilty of grumbling myself, but tomorrow can be a real turning point both for the team and for the atmosphere at Goodison. I hope.
