Goodness me. Luck played better than Gibson, McCarthy and Barkley combined. If he cost us the game then how would you sum up the performances of the other three?

Gibson had a decent game. Barkley and McCarthy weren't brilliant but they didn't cost us the game by not doing their job.

Lukaku did.

I can't pin that one-off performance on Martinez. I can certainly pin it on Lukaku.

He had a shocker and cost us the game. That's the be all end all of it. Four glaring chances, arguably five.

He threw in the towel after the international break, and this belated attempt to pick up his form saw an inevitable end result in his sharpness.

Bit unfair.

On another day the penalty goes in (Not sure what day tbh with his record from the spot) and at least half of those chances do as well.

Knowing Everton's luck all those chances would've been buried in some non-event of a match. Just the rub of the green that it had to happen today. :(

Trying to console my eldest lad here and I wish I had something better to offer than 'well I think we'll have a new manager next season'.

Utterly broken.

He's been awful for weeks after his little tirade. That is indisputable. I'll stick the knife into him as a result, as he deserves every inch of it.

Stones and Besic were a diabolical duo for their first goal. Besic got skinned by Martial...Stones didn't stay with Fellaini.

Correct. I can excuse Besic as he simply couldn't play the role.

Stones... I can't. He was grim. Second half obviously better, but who gives a toss.

I swear, I also knew Lukaku would miss the pen.
And I knew ManU would get the winner in stoppage time.

If I knew it, Everton knew it too, in their hearts.

This club has a big problem. Bigger than the manager IMO though he must take the blame nevertheless.

this might be why Everton have the problems of losing when it really counts, letting goals in late .. because Evertonians are used to it and expect it, therefore the collective mentality makes it happen.
