Showed them too much respect again. Suppose you could say we were missing some key players and we had a makeshift back four but we all know they're excuses. Not as good as some on here were making out. Two points dropped and no where near top 4. Now we need a win against Man Utd or momentum well and truly lost.
By "nowhere near top 4" I assume you mean "2pts off top 4 after a much harder start to the season than those around us"?

Think it was a fair result, but also thought we were the better team and the only ones looking likely to score in the second half, but just lacked the cutting edge. Think today is the first time we missed Baines, despite another really good show from Galloway. Put Baines and Coleman against their full-backs and we'd have had a lot more joy.

Howard - 5 - Made some decent saves but at fault for their goal. Needs to claim it there.
Browning - 6 - Looked a lot more comfortable tonight than he did against West Brom, solid display.
Jagielka - 8 - Very good today. Really strong performance and controlled the defence well.
Fumes-Mori - 7 - Thought he was excellent. Shaky first 10 mins but a after that looked composed and had Sturridge in his pocket.
Galloway - 6 - Again a performance way beyond his years. Got forward when he could and helped Mori out when needed.
McCarthy - 7 - All-action display from him and he got forward well in the second half.
Barry - 7 - Shielded the defence really well and set our tempo going forward.
Deulofeu - 5 - Not good enough from him today, unfortunately. He did well for our goal but he was anonymous for the rest of the game.
Barkley - 7 - Not his best game but he was composed on the ball and linked up brilliantly at times with Rom and Naismith.
Naimsith - 6 - Got about well and put a good shift in. Think he should have maybe gone off 5 mins earlier as Kone pushed us further upfield.
Lukaku - 8 - His hold up play was top-notch, and the finish was class as well. He should have scored with the effort that Mignolet saved.

Lennon - 6 - Looked lively and offered something more than Del when he came on, think he may start against Utd.
Koné - 6 - Held it up well and also pushed us further forward, meaning Rom wasn't as isolated.

Martinez - 6 - Good gameplay and we were unlucky. Decent subs but Koné should probably have been on a bit earlier.

I thought they kept the ball better, we were very sloppy. But we made the better chances. Our back four were excellent.

Ok fume over. Disappointing result but it's a point. Have no fear of the return fixture. Goal has to be to keep getting results this month. EFC need to request that Atkinson not ref another Derby. Read the guardian min by min: even a neutral described his decision to leave Lucas on as pathetic.

Anybody saying 'we're gonna drop off the pace' needs a serious headacheck. 8 games into the season, and missing three of our first choice back 4 (2 of which are two of our most influential attackers) plus the likes of Kev and Cleverley. We're doing fine. Shame we didn't win today, we were the better team, but we just lacked a bit of spark in the final third.

Two points dropped that, no question. Had the feeling all week we'd go behind but still thought we had enough quality to overrun their (Sakho) [Poor language removed] defence at will.

Credit to every one of the back four, they barely put a foot wrong between them which bodes very well for the strength in depth of our squad in the long run. Disappointed to give away such a soft goal though - Howard was pathetic in not even attempting to claim the ball.

Really impressed with Rom's hold-up play, just a shame Kone couldn't have replaced Naismith a bit earlier in the second half so he had the proper support and link-up play that his performance deserved.

Atkinson was diabolical. Should be investigated by the FA for bottling Lucas' blatant red card for an offence right in front of him (plus made to explain WTF he booked Barkley for).

Still a lot of noise in the Twatterverse that Klopp is waiting in the wings. Hope not, Rodgers is the perfect manager for that deluded, arrogant, self-aggrandising shower of gobshites.

Why on gods earth are loads of so called Evertonians happy at not beating the worst liverpool team in recent memory at home, i just can't believe it

Picture this: you are Jurgen Klopp. You have won the Bundesliga twice and got to the finals of the Champions League and probably should have won that match. You resign from Dortmund after a woeful season and are thinking about getting back into the game.

Why on earth would you go to Liverpool? Its a massive step down for him.
