If Cuco doesn’t lose his place then it sends a bad message to both the senior and U23 squads.

Garbutt may not be the best defender but he can sling a cross in and that should edge him over Martina for this game.

I hope he goes with both Bolasie and Walcott to finally add a bit of real place to our counter attacks. Let Sigurdsson sit in behind Tosun and we may well actually see some attacking intent.

When will get the team news today...?
Officially it's always 2pm, however recently there's been a few fairly accurate early reports of the team news. Paul Joyce on twitter is okay too!

If we go with 2 defensive mids at home to West Brom in a must win game then please feel free to abandon all hope.
I'd be happy to see Rooney sit further back next to either Schneiderlin or Gana (he'll probably offer more tempo) as he can move the ball around.

Ideally, Davies would have been an ideal choice but with his recent form I'd expect him to be out-muscled far too often again their midfield.

..the indication is he wants to go back to being hard to beat, which I suspect means defending deep with two DMs. The footy pundit, Steve Freeth, has just been on telly tipping West Brom but he is a Baggies fan.

I think this is a massive game. A win puts us in a very decent position on 30 points but a defeat really means we’re in the mix.

I think Rooney’s only effective position now is as the deep lying playmaker, the quarterback role so to speak. He would need Gana or Jimmy Mac to do his running though, just can’t see him and Schneiderlin working.

I have no problem with Sam making us hard to beat but as you say, we must pick up points somewhere. Today’s game and also Palace in a couple of weeks are ones which we have to go all out to claim the win.

We should be going for the throat of these today. Martina's defensive ineptness should be a temporary non-issue because they shouldn't even be getting over the half-way line.

Today is a must win to kick on in the remainder of a season with very few "expected losses" left.

Would be nice if both home debutants net.

We belong with the also rans. So there are lots of important games coming up, including Watford, Brighton and Stoke.

Today, I'd say that the relegated teams will come from those below Bournemouth. Places are very tight, so three points can bring a big change.

But if we can't score, I can't see where we will get our points from. And I'm not sure that things will change today. I think Sam will fear a West Brom goal from a corner or free kick. So he could play three centre halves.
