Well that is a good pre-season. I don't think besides the 1st game we could have done any better and we are now fully prepared for plucky losses, large unimaginable losses and undeserved draws.

Why do our fans worry so much? We still finished 8th last year despite how crap we were you numpties and we actually have a better team now.

Every single season we finish our pre season campaign with a home defeat to a decent Spanish team. Valencia are better than decent tbf as well.

Thought going forward we looked so much better today. Theo makes a huge difference and siggy is getting there now after the world cup and longer break.

We didn't learn anything new about our centre backs. The management know that it's a position that needs addressing and I am certain we will get someone in.

Flanks - sorted
Full backs - sorted
Keeper - sorted
Striker - sorted - although backup needed

It's the centre backs and defensive centre mids that are massively important.

But that 11 who started today - with Pickford and Digne in for Stek and Baines - is not millions of miles away and I think we will be midtable with no more additions. Genuinely.

Add a really commanding CB and a dynamic, physical midfielder and we can start looking up

So all we lack is a spine!

Not as bad as some on here are making out, well no where near as bad as Rennes game losing 4-1.

From what I have seen so far this preseason this was a marked improvement but defence still needs sorting

We need two new CBs, get them in and we’ll be fine, easier said than done I know

Wasn’t that bad. Valencia are a good side. We played some decent stuff.

Obviously, we need 2 CBs. A quality box to box CM would be a bonus.

If we can bring those in, we’ll be OK until January, when hopefully we can bring a few more in & ship out our £45M white elephant.
