Listening to 5 Live at about 730 this morning you'd have thought Spurs lost to themselves. Hardly a mention about us and Mike Dean with a Irish accent took up 3 minutes - noone [Poor language removed] cares! And then they played mourinho as an interview and not a peep from The Everton side. The media bias against us and for spurs just makes me soooo cross! We need to go on and win this now just to piss them off if nothing else!

Echoes of the '95 semi then - the media got their collective noses bent out of shape that day too.
I seem to remember Big Joe popcorning them in the post match interviews as well.

You never get people on the posts anymore. I reckon the coaches just weigh up is it worth it having a guy on the post or having the guy defending a man/zone. It’s one of those decisions you only question when a goal goes in but isn’t praised when a corner is defended successfully.

Most teams push up as soon as the corner is taken trying to catch the attacking team offside if they head it towards goal.

Totally agree with you there, been a revelation.

He looked really out of sorts from the whistle yesterday. I wonder whether Ben Godfrey is starting to scare him a bit for his place. He was 'dropped'/rested for the Leeds game wasn't he?

Keane has just had a couple of iffy games. In terms of the goals, Gylfi did a poor job marking Sanchez, Mina mis controlled for the Lamela goal and Doucoure lost Kane for their 4th. Keane has never been great with players running at him which they were able to do a lot of in the first half as we were a bit sloppy.

It's just blip for him and I'm sure he'll be back on it for Fulham.

I also didn't think Godfrey have a great game today. He doesn't look that comfortable at right back.

Great result though and so good to see us not crumble for once!

Weird game was like most on here after 20 mins expecting the worst and slagging the team off as bottlers...then all throughout the game expected the worst - is it because of the years of misery and disappointment? Liverpool fans are the exact opposite and expect to win all the time. Couldn't bring myself to watch most of the second half but bizarrely watched all of extra time! as long as we don't get City in next round now ...

Not enjoyable until the very, very final whistle for me, but this is a very different Everton side to what's gone on for the last few seasons, as there's no way we win that game without Carlo and his influence.
