I was a bit disappointed with Swansea today. I admired Gary Monk's stance on diving last week and was a bit surprised to see his side time wasting (from pretty much the start of the game) and fouling at every opportunity. Didn't think that was his style to be honest. Didn't expect that and had been looking forward to entertaining game.

That said, we have and will continue to see sides do that at Goodison and we should be good enough to get that all important first goal. Lacked tempo today and did what we've done many times before by getting into good positions but choosing the sideways pass instead of showing a bit of invention.

Cold comfort but I think we did pretty well defensively after Alcaraz went off and seeing that we have now lost THREE of our central defenders. I am really glad Besic came on and not Hibbert. Tony is on his way out and we need to start testing the younger players. Sounds like Alcaraz will be out for the rest of the season and Kone's recovery has been put back to at least January. They have turned out to be really unlucky additions for us (don't want to blame them for injuries, but massively frustrating nevertheless).

The teams below SOTON will reload in the transfer window. SOTON won't, in fact they might lose more players.

Imagine if Liverpool bought another few players from them and still finished above them. In fact how good must it feel to be a Southampton fan? They must hate Liverpool as much as us. We suffered a bigger lose than they could ever loose in Wayne Rooney then we finished 4th. You def can't rule them out.

We looked pretty toothless upfront from where I was sitting, never gonna score in month of Sundays.
Barkley is wasted on the left though he is still not at full sharpness.
Mc Carthy excellent but many others were not at the races today.

Whoever qualifies for the Champions League this season, I absolutely guarantee, nailed on, that they will do so by finishing with less points than we had last season. That would be the most Everton thing in the world.
This is nailed on to happen FFS.

If Montero had gone over from Colemans second half challenge, they would definitely had gotten a penalty. If Monk hadnt gone all religious on diving during the week, I am sure he would have.

Alcaraz made a fine save at full streatch in the first half with his hand.

It could have been a whole lot worse.

They turned up to play for a point and gave up attacking altogether after the red card and we couldn't break them down... this sometimes happens in football (though I think playing without a striker wasn't a clever way to go)

Why do we never capitalise? We should be beating them today and then Sunderland next week. Liverpool will likely lose again next week.

Real chance to open up a gap there not taken, as usual.

There is something very amiss about this season so far. I cant put my finger on it, but its like the entire team forgot everything about what made them so boss last year(mostly). I cant think of 1 player that is better this year than last and i can say the same about the manager as well.
