and even then it was not a deserved win as we had more of the ball, more corners and more shots on goal, and we should have had at least 1 pen.

Give it a rest

A lot on here thought we would smash these by just turning up

Credit to them for holding on and seeing the job out, They also could and should have had more goals

We are getting to big for our boots imo after achieving nothing

Serves you lot right, some of you predicted 7-0. How ignorant? :dancing:
Have fun in the championship next season...

one more thing, will you cry when you get relegated?

As poor as Ossie's mistake was he's still a decent player. The reaction to him here is a bit over the top. It was only two games ago were he opened the scoring and played well against Fulham. I think Martinez called it spot on despite how badly it backfired. You just can't account for those sort of freak mistakes. It's especially ironic considering its normally Osman's close control that is his biggest asset. Hopefully the rest of the team will be hungry to put this right on Sunday.

Nonetheless, I agree it's a devastating three points to lose out on..

IS Davek saying we cant win without Barkley? Is he saying we are a one man team that rely on a 20 yr old?

He's saying the downgrade from Barkley to Osman and consequent poor result had happened before when Martinez made it and that our usually astute boss has made a gamble that he didn't need to make...as a result we were that stretched we a) knackered the team out chasing a game and b ) because we were chasing it lost our shape and discipline enough to get Barry a suspension too...just one game before the amnesty.

Barkley this season has been our best attacking minded midfielder mate, and he has on 3 occasions been dropped for an over 30's lightweight player who doesn't have the same awareness levels of ross and gives the ball away too much (something barkley wouldn't have done in that position today) Crystal Palace (bottom of the league at the time, Sunderland (bottom of the league at the time) and Spurs (who were nothing special when we played them) ossie started all 3 of those games and we picked up just 2 points out of a possible 9 in which we should of been looking at around 7. That's disgraceful and its no coincidence Osman started the matches and when barkley came on in those 2nd half we looked a much stronger team capable of scoring. Those are moyes style points dropped against ****e teams its just a different operandi ie. Moyes sits back Martinez rotates without the quality being there to rotate with.

Why's loads of you having a go at Sunderland? They've done [Poor language removed] all wrong like.

Decent set of fans out of a sea of belters in England. They'll be buzzing and rightly so, if I'd seen how cocky our fans were of the victory before then I'd be doubly buzzing.

Everton aren't we?

Some dont want that type of analysis though.

Nicely summarised....Osman shouldn't be starting games....
