In short, Stoke battered Newcastle in the first half an hour and went 1 up. Whelen then gets sent off after two soft yellows, Mark Hughes goes nuts and gets sent to the stands himself. Three minutes later, Wilson gets a straight red for a foul on Remy when he was last man but Sorensen saved the resulting pen.

Newcastle ended up winning 5-1 anyway. Stoke played with 9 men for the entire second half.

Don't know why. Newcastle seem to get all the RS's luck back in the 2000s.

With only ten men on the pitch we had to work much harder than we did. First half was a write-off and i'm disappointed with the attittude of Kevin Mirallas disappearing down the touchline. The substitute of Barkley made a massive difference but he could only shoot from outside the area, there was nothing else on for him, not enough movement at times. Lukaku disappointed me, he played out wide a lot and in the second half he had more of a go, but he's not effective from out wide on the right. Lukaku was terrible first half and i use the word LAZY to describe him first half.

Oviedo had a solid game as did McCarthy and Barkley. They're the players that stood out for me today.

Got to give credit to the sunderland keeper, he made some great saves.

Hi lads, I know it's disappointing what happened today but we really shouldn't be too disheartened. I came away from the game at Goodison feeling a bit confused as to how we never scored, their keeper just had a worldy really and most other games we would have equalised and even went onto win it. I thought the sending off was a good call from the referee but Howard should have just booted it up the field to Lukaku as Barry didn't come for it, Joel never saved the pen but was extremely close to and for the rest of the game he played well. After they scored we seemed a bit confused and didn't really know what to do and they passed us to death, but at Half time Roberto told them what to do and we went out and controlled the game and looked more likely to score, we were just unlucky that their [Poor language removed] of a keeper had a fantastic game and everything seemed to go for them. I was happy that the fans clapped the players off at the end, they deserved that after putting so much effort in. We can take a lot of positives out of this game, up the toffees.

That game should be investigated for match fixing

Just got back... Leon Osman is a complete disgrace. The bigger joke - other than him being a professional footballer - is that he'll be rewarded for that diabolical effort today by starting on Sunday. Disgusting back pass, but nothing surprises me with that useless carthorse.

I'll be honest: he gets on my tits.

If we could replace him with another decent player with a better attitude I'd be delighted.

Gold Bentleys and a me-me-me attitude: Nein Danke.

He was ill, according to Everton. I honestly thought he would do better things this season, hopefully the best is yet to come.

Apparently we cant complain mate, because it was unfortunate.

He'd never start another game again if I had my way.

he went off ill you mentalist, I would be more disappointed in our manager for again dropping our best midfielder for that 5 stone pile of ****e Osman who is determined to get on my tits as much as sir Philip Neville of last season.
