Ok we lost today but we werent going to go all season nit getting beat again. Look at it this way we have been beaten by a rampant man city and an almighty **** up in defence. If that is the only way we lose thus season then its a massive step up from last year. We beat saints and Stoke next and today won't matter.

Is that you Roberto?

Is it against Everton tradition to ever play two strikers from the start? If Barkley needed a "rest" why couldnt we play two strikers against a ****e bottom tabled sunderland side???

I dont believe its osmans fault at all tbh. Howard can see the whole pitch and shouldnt of passed it to Ossie why Ki only 5 yards behind him. Howard then shouldve shouted man on and demanded the ball back instead of no communication and leaving Osman Blindsided on the edge of our own box. Some of the slack Ossie gets is unbelievable and yet when he scores everyone loves him...

They're under instructions to play that pass as an option from the goal kick. Osman called for the pass and came to receive to feet.

If Osman is then incapable of knowing what's around him and can't trap a ball with two touches, then the fault lies entirely with him.

I know Osman ****ed up really bad but it was just one of those moments that you just have to bear with you. I'd be asking howard the reason he played it out that way? Mostly when you pass out you do it side ways..not looking to kick it long then passing it down the middle with a striker lurking.
Osman would deserve the stick if he's consistently **** but no he's just about the squad rotational player you need. Do you remember Distin's back pass at Wembley or Jags' back pass against Villa at goodisson? Its just one of the moments that you gotta get over as a player and put in a strong performance next time around. I'd be worrying if we can't beat Southampton now.

Southampton will be a huge test, but they have a lot missing as well. two evenly matched sides who are gonna attack and not park the bus (which we struggle against because we lack a true-quality 'No.10' - Barkley isn't the player to unlock defences with a sexy pass yet). Massive game now.

Get out of our club you Catalan Clown, you're ruining our club.

Martinez is a wonderful manager. There's no one needs telling that less than me on here. I refuse to give a God-like status to Everton managers though and give unquestioning support. Let the Kopites do that.

He didn't learn from the Palace debacle and he repeated a failed tactic. I reserve the right to say that AND think he's still the Cat's meow.

Try a bit of nuance yourself...you might like it.

easy to have knee-jerk reactions, but other than the score, the facts are.

1. We battered them in the second half. We could have had 3 or 4 in the second half
2. Robles looked good - i've more confidence in him now after an indifferent pre-season and Fulham cup game
3. Jela looked good and hungry when he came on and was really unlucky not to score
4. Oviedo showed once again he is a more than able deputy for Baines...a 20m offer for Bainsey and I would probably take it
5. Lukaku looked more hungry than he did against swansea...he got into a couple of great positions once again...just needs the break of the ball

For S'ton, I'd drop Barkley in with McCarthy and go 2 up - Lukaku and Jela. Just go for it and batter them

Does my ****ing head in this type of comment.

He doesn't want to see certain players play because he believes they aren't good enough, what's wrong with that ? Not like he'd shout abuse at them during the game.

Tell you what, why don't we just play everyone to be 'nice' and 'support our players'.

well said too many people get overly emotionally attached to players its their jobs ffs they are on 40k+ a week and if they don't perform like in any other job they get pulled up for it.

Martinez's masterminded today to underestimate sunderland by resting barkley for a man who is ****e at playing the full 90 mins, from that Barkley had to come in regardless due to osmans cock up meaning we are without Howard and a barkley who is no fitter than what he would of been starting today and probably ensuring we would of got atleast a draw as no way we would of lost had Osman not cocked up.

To be fair to Martinez, we went 2 upfront and were unlucky not to score.

Having made the mistake, Howard should have let the bloke go on and not fouled him, even if it was a certain goial.

It was very early in the game and we would have likely steamrollered them with eleven men.

We couldn't afford to go down to ten men afyer what, fifteen minutes or so.

That said, the ten men battered Sumlun in the latter stages.

We were never going to win every one of those handy looking matches anyway so take this on the chin and let's see the boys resume normal service on Sunday.
