I dont mind him as a late sub. But that is all Osman is. He's about as much a starter in my mind as that other imposter, Naismith.

Thing is though Dave, who else is there? If we just play McCarthy, Barry, Barkley every game then no-one else is up to speed should an injury or suspension occur? 20 mins as a sub every now and again might keep a player ticking over but you want there to be competition and players feeling like they're under pressure and that they've got a chance of getting in the team every week. The overall beneficial effect of that (i.e our consistent good play and positivity) ultimately outweighs the setbacks you will get from time to time, like today.

There's plenty of positives to be had from that performance today and in general so I'm going to focus on those.

Any sunderland fan is totally Justified coming on here to wind us up the way in which they were dismissed by Evertonians all over the internet before the game was embarrassing and I would do the same.

This 100%, we had our trousers pulled down and our arses slapped today. Take a mocking like we handed out.

Think he could go
Joel
Stones Jags Distin
Coleman Baines
Barkley McCarthy
Mirallas Pienaar
Lukaku

Mirrors his Wigan team completely with Pienaar as Maloney who's almost central paving way for the wing back.

The shocking thing is that United are 3 point behind and Newcastle are now 1 point behind. we could be mid table next week.

We can't afford result like this but we did fk up today. If there is any chance for us to go further than top 4, we should have won today. We can afford player to make stupid mistake like this. Or else kiss goodbye to top 4.

Might be an idea to play either miralles or jelavic up front next match and play lukaku off the front man so he can drift, he looked better going wider to take the ball and drive at them. Play barkley deeper

He really can strike the ball well from far away, and we can't use that when he's so far up the pitch. I wouldn't mind seeing Jela up there, holding the ball for one touch, and getting it back to kevin or rom to drive at the goal.

Hope Osman has a sleepless night tonight and cries throughout it. I hope Osman's 80 year old dad who is old cries also about his son and his old wife has to comfort him.

Southampton will be a huge test, but they have a lot missing as well. two evenly matched sides who are gonna attack and not park the bus (which we struggle against because we lack a true-quality 'No.10' - Barkley isn't the player to unlock defences with a sexy pass yet). Massive game now.
