Mate, it could have easily been Barkley giving it away there. It happens.

I'm with you though, ruined Christmas.

it should have been one of our centre midfielders picking the ball up there, not our attacking midfielder, he should have more experience than that. He's in his ****ing 30's, pretty sure martinez would have told him to be the supporting man for lukaku not coming back to collect the ball from the keeper.

I was also a bit bemused to see Osman starting ahead of Barkley, but with three games in seven days, it made sense, especially as we were facing the bottom team today and even with Osman should have had more than enough to win this game. However, WTF was Howard doing passing it out down the middle when he could see Ki coming up to press Osman, and WTF was Osman doing there in the first place? Two brain farts and that was the difference today. Glad to see the others never let their heads drop and their keeper saved them at least two points.

If you don't like the pass made and where Osman received it, then you don't like Martinez. That is the way they will play regardless any incidents like today.

we dominated them with 10 men, and we would probably have dominated and won even if barkley didnt win today. It was just very very bad luck with everything today. We even had to play with 9 for some minutes cause mirallas had to poop.... that says it all really.

Our players have to be more aware when receiving these short pass at the back in the future. I think it is the first time these sh1te pass/control at the back caused us.

This was our chance to get above the rs, terrible result and bad outcome, no Barry or Howard for the next game, Lukaku becoming less useful by the game. Pienaar looks tired, Mirallas sick.
We need some good transfers this window. A stiker please

Thanks for enlightening me in Osman **** up.
So we either press the pan
ic button or we analyse and move on.
The way I see it, this was a wake up call. If anything this should be be the fire we need now for the next few games. From what I heard, Jelavic looked good so maybe its the ideal time to bring him back so he proves a point. Barkley needed a breather lads and it was a right decision to put him on the bench. He' deffo start on sunday. I think Naismith needs to play tok. Lukaku recsntly looks jaded, don't know what it is maybe he needs better support

Abar right.

The only problem is that is was our own doing. None of this "Sunderland desereved the win". The didn't, they were **** and got lucky because an Everton player wanted to end his career early.

I dont mind him as a late sub. But that is all Osman is. He's about as much a starter in my mind as that other imposter, Naismith.

exactly..if howard had played that ball to barkley it might as well has been him that had lost it there. I'm not Osmans biggest fan, but I think he is a good squadplayer for us, and does in no way deserve all the stick he gets from the blue supporters.

OH **** OFF, this was down to two players who left their brains in the dressing room, not because Martinez likes to play from the back.

Play Barkley deeper against Southamton, Mirallas behind Lukaku and dare I say it Naismith on the right, basically what I'm saying is dont play Osman. I'd even prefer us sticking Pienaar on the right and playing Baines and Oviedo down the left.

i agree here.

I've watched the pen incident about 15 times from all different angles an I'm certain there was no contact made. Also I thought you got sent off if you deny a goal scoring opportunity. Seeing as he gave them a pen the goal scoring opportunity wasn't denied. If the reff had seen the dive he would have looked like a complete cheating buffoon passing up an open goal in the hope of gettin Timmy sent off. Apart from that and considering we were down to ten men I thought we played great. Especially in the second half.

I just cant handle that defeat there, atm. I know we've done brilliantly all season and Martinez is that cat's pyjamas...I know all that. But **** me that was a massive kick in the bollocks on a day that should have been all about consolidating our place in the top five. Now we have United and Newcastle on our shirt tails and it was down to Martinez's faith in a player who isn't starting line up material...never in a million years...and especially when you have the best player in the country there to keep the feller out of the line up.

Copy book blotted Senor.

Agree 100% same old ****e the sooner osman ****s off the better martinez has fallen for the local lad first on the training ground last to leave bollocks that neville pulled with moyes.

Like I said martinez is a manager who either underestimates certain teams or believes the squad has more quality than it actually has, as in CM our options of the bench are limited and RM should have persisted until the transfer window with who we have until bringing another CM in.

Don't begrudge Sunderland the win, they're bottom and scrapping for their lives. The rules are sh*te with the red card for the keeper ruining a game of football but that's how it is.

Really pleased to see Everton not wilt with ten men and really take the game to them, you wouldn't have thought they had the man advantage for long periods of that second half. Did you see the subs too? An extra striker on to chase it. Keeper up for the last corner of the game.

I can forgive a lot of things as long as Everton really go after teams and that's what were doing at the moment. Results may not go our way this week but were gonna be sound.

Turn and face blues.

tried, really tried. Went down swinging. Put this one to bed.

Worth repeating. Total bravery and commitment shown to try and turn it around, down to 10 men. Just denied on at least 2 occasions. Just have to stomach this and take the good into the rest of the campaign.
