Disjointed performance so far but that was a team goal. We don't look threatened by Stoke IMO but we haven't really looked threatening. Liking the way Rooney is dropping deep to collect and start play. 3 at the back doesn't seem right when going forward but are defending OK and Jags is having a mare with the ball IMO. Baines not much better. Sandro's movement is good but lots of his passing going astray but played a big part in the goal. Not pretty most of the time but flashes of good football. Looks like they still don't know what each is doing or supposed to do but the important thing is to keep the lead. COYB

It was always going to be ugly, it's Stoke and it's a bunch of new players trying to get use to each other's movements and playing style. There were a few nice link ups and you can see what it's going to look like given time.

Nice pause and turn by Sandro to get it to DCL. Nice cross and a class finish by Rooney. Go get a few more in the second half and put it to bed.

Never doubted them.

A lot of the boos aimed at the ref but, watching it live, he has not put foot wrong. Chelski reacted to the red by trying to get him to send one off for Burnley and as a result, they stopped concentrating on playing against the opposition today while Burnley kept their concentration and scored two more.

Text book example of overpaid spoilt brats on the pitch and in the stands being shown up by a strong ref and a determined and well organised opposition.

Now, Everton to come out in a higher gear please and start playing more directly.
