Heard these rumours as well from lots of sources; lots of talk about Sam undertaking squad rotation as to experiment with some fringe players.

Hopefully it's all nonsense as we play poor football with our strongest XI out, so I dare to think what we'll be like with youngsters and dross.

Morning mate, i don't mind too much if he uses other fringe players as I consider that our/Sams 'strongest' eleven have not shown up this season. They haven't been hungry enough or shown enough desire. This season is a right off and I want these many of the players gone next season!

And I will still support the lads wearing blue later and if the show pride wearing the shirt, that will do me today.;)

While I'm not disagreeing that some have not shown the guile and tenacity needed, I do feel that some (if not all) have also been sold short.

I've spoken at length with a reputable coach who is now coaching at another significant club in the North West, yet once worked under Sam.

Now I'm not a coach myself, therefore not well versed in the strategies or lingo of coaching, but he wasn't very complimentary of Sam's style.

In short, he explained training and match tactics as stages (boxes) and within those stages are rigid roles - this is meant to be great for defence.

However, if you're talking about a style of attacking, attractive football then it simply doesn't match up as it doesn't offer flexibility or anticipation.

I feel that if our strongest XI struggle to flourish under these methods, then perhaps throwing our youngsters under a simple routine is unfair.

However, as you rightly say, that's not excusing how at times some of our 'star' players have been diabolical and looking totally uninterested.

While I want Sam gone, I will certainly support the lads until the end of the season and really don't want our slight momentum to peter out.

I expect a busy summer! Many of our issues have been caused by the lack of not being able to defend correctly and how we set up when we do not have the ball. I hope we fix this first and then deal with the creative side when we go forward. Hey, this just might be how we are now and we have many years of shaking our heads ahead of us!

The youngster will be there to help stop the anti Sam atmosphere and to give him an excuse for the negative fan reaction.

“I wanted to look at the fringe players but the fans have been unfair to the lads today”......cue plenty more support in the pro Sam media and negativity towards the nasty fan base.

A busy summer is certainly needed and I expect a fair few purchases, although last year's summer was busy and look how that ended up.

Put simply, lots of additions will be completely irrelevant (at least in the long-term) if those signatures aren't part of a larger plan to improve us.

I've highlighted your final line as unfortunately I do feel that we're edging towards this being true; more so, if next year Sam still has the reigns.

While Sam has signed Tosun and Walcott - two of very few positives - I have very little confidence in him implementing a long-term transfer plan.

The thought of watching another season of slow, tepid football with a midfield that offers nothing makes me actually feel nauseas.

If he plays some of the players on the fringe of the team we might witness a bit of effort, however if he asks them to play Fat Sam's way it won't make much difference. 1-0 home win, 3 shots on target, boring dull but exceptional in Fat Sam's head.
