I would pick Stek not because I'm resting Pickford just I don't want to risk him getting an injury in a game we can win without him. In defence the full backs would be swapped where as I would like to see Holgate and Zouma start to build an understanding as they are what we are likely to go with in the short term. Centre Midfield picks itself due to injuries. The 3 in the attacking midfield positions need an opportunity to show what they can do and I would have the 3 interchanging. Up front Tosun needs a goal.

Is the midfield injury crisis so bad we’ve got to play Marcel Brands there?!

Got to use this match to try and tighten up our still very leaky defence. 5 goals conceded in 3 games against fairly average teams, most of which where due to defensive errors is just not good enough and has already played a part in costing us 4 points in 3 games and it will be even more severe when we come against tougher teams. I would definitely bring in Zouma and Digne and do away with this zonal marking for now and get back to man marking which is less confusing for the players. Possibly bring Bernard and Lookman in aswell to give them an opportunity. Better to keep Pickford in if we are trying to strengthen up our defence and stop leaking goals and there is little point in resting a goal keeper anyway. Stekelenburg is nowhere near the level of Pickford and should only be used this season as a last resort imo.
