With no Europe it’s a chance for periphery players to add a bit of competition, that being said we should only introduce players who have deserved their chance.

Bernard, Zouma and Digne come in for obvious reasons but don’t want or expect wholesale changes. Better bleeding in the new signings into as settled as can be first team.

this is sad to see. i know they're champiosnhip, but they're still a very small club and for a lot of their players playing at somehwere like goodison could be the pinnacle of their career. The FA need to do something about every team playing weak teams in the cups. It really doesn't make sense. Palace sent out a terrible weak team to swansea last night and i have no idea why. They'll be fine as far as relegation is concerned and if they do happen to be in a scrap near the end of the season, playing a weak team three weeks into the season wouldn't have any hinderance.

What do you want the FA to do though?

it's one of them though, teams like Rotherham would probably rather play at goodison against a full strength team, but if we for instance put out a crap team and they won because of that surely they'd be more happy for financial reasons ( maybe not so much this cup for the FA cup )

The FA have no place to decide whether a team is using their strongest squad or not. Only the management of that said Club determine what their strongest team is and their entitled to play any registered player.

Remember someone being done for it years ago, absolute nonsense.

Exactly

Anyone see that piece on their manager Paul Warne the other day? Seems an interesting manager - puts emphasis on player’s character and personality and is all about building team spirit and looking after his players. Seems a really nice chap.

Hope we batter them 8 nil like.

I'd go

Pickford
Coleman(c) Holgate Zouma Digne
Gueye Davies Baningime
Walcott Tosun Lookman

In goal; no need for rest/rotation/cup keeper
Coleman in for experience at the back with Holgate/Zouma. Play Zouma left so he and Digne are ok communications wise.
Gueye/Davies because I don't know what our other options are! Beni did enough last season to earn a go in the cup.
Theo to come off after 60 mins for Bernard
Cenk has been great but I'm sure he'd feel better with a goal
If this isn't the game to play Lookman then I don't know what is

Think it will potentially be a struggle if we make a lot of changes as well as blood all the new players. Take the game seriously and get it won.

This season will seem short on games without a cup run.

Bit of trivia but in 1893 everton played a second string team against a full strength wolves team and beat them 4-2 away from home. Everton got fined for fielding a weakened side. 7 days later Everton fielded our full strength team against the same Wolves team in the 1893 FA Cup final and got beat 1-0
