To even suggest that the team were very experienced is ridiculous and I can only think you are in some way trying to make excuses for the performance. That second half was by far the worst performance I've seen in in 50 years of watching Everton. Far worse than the hammerings we've had at the hands of Arsenal, Chelsea etc. The fact it was against Liverpool of all teams merely makes it worse.

Wow!!! For my part I wouldn't dream of trying to excuse our performance that day, but the number of times one of our own, supposed supporters (and I'm not suggesting you aren't a Blue - your OTT criticism of our team proves that) comes out with "beaten by a bunch of kids" comment it does my head in. There's enough KAGS in the world doing that without us joining in.
 
We played well for the first 10 mins then well in the first 10 of extra time. We were abysmal for most of the rest of the game. Thankfully we scored during both good spells and should have scored at least 1 more in those periods.

You can get out of jail playing sporadically against lower league teams but in the league that will never work. Move on and make sure there is no repeat. You ain't progressing any further in a cup at that level of performance.
 
We’re so lacking in pace it’s beyond embarrassing.
A couple of pacey wingers for James to spray passes to would transform the team.

Sigurdsson, Gomes, Davies, Tosun, Bernard, are totally one paced and so easy to play against.

Good to see Digne back but he’s way off being match fit. Olosunde ripped him a new one.

James had a few nice touches and looks like he’s on his way back to becoming the player he was at start of season.

A win is a win, but that was shocking to watch.

Interesting to see who Carlo can ship out and bring in in January and the summer.
 
How can a shoulder said to be over the line for offside affect a goal. Mind boggles.. That would have put the games to bed.

Having said that the game showed what a poor squad we have overall.
 
Missed the first half, which judging by what was said at half time, probably just as well. From what I saw onwards though we made heavy weather of it. In the hat for the next two rounds though, I'll take that everyday
 
We struggled after the first 15 minutes, but its the cup and anything can happen. Thought Doucoure deserved MOTM because he altered the game when he came on and special mention for Noukounku when he came on in et, his speed down the wing is an asset we can use more often.
