We are never going to control the game for 90 mins

They made changes and they were always going to come out better second half after having a bollocking from Pardew

They created very little IMO, Lukaku tired which did not help, Overall we dominated the game from start to finish

A 3-2 score line flatters them a lot to say the lest

Yes, we should have put them to the sword; but they had a great hit to get them back into it and then we just tried to contain the situation for the most part. The Cabaye goal saved them from a hiding.

Fair enough, lads.

I'll watch it back again tomorrow and probably be on here agreeing with you. Sounds like I'm on my own on this one!

Sorry to begin with criticism, but I would love to know the reasoning behind keeping Lukaku on for 35 more minutes than he really should have done. Lukaku was very, very poor second half. I think there was really no downside to bringing Kone or even Jelavic on, we were 3-1 up and in need of something different upfront, someone who could hold the ball up. I personally would have taken off Mirallas and Lukaku for Kone and Deolofeu at HT.

Good win... but why are we so incapable of smashing sides over a full 90 mins?? After the first half we should have either been looking to press further in search of more goals or just sat deeper and closed the game out without conceding - we did neither.

Hate how we do things the hard way constantly!

I said when he came in I would take the heavy defeats if he gets us playing football I would pay to watch, Well he's already doing that and the buzz around blue's at the min is something I haven't felt for an age

One important thing is not to overreact when we go down to a bad loss

It was just complete and utter complacency on our part. Newcastle didn't do anything special. They just improved upon their absolutely dire first half performance.

I think we did what was needed in the first 35 minutes - took advantage of woeful defending, played some nice stuff, got the goals.

The rest of the game we were poor. There is really no getting away from that. I just hope it was a lack of concentration which can be nipped in the bud ASAP as opposed to something more psychological. Really don't know what we were playing at in the 2nd half - even before then. We gifted an ordinary side a way back into the game and obviously they gained confidence. It wasn't some sort of massive assault on our goal - we just invited them onto us.

Delighted with the 3 points though, and that confirms a really good start to the season. Lukaku is just what we need. Coleman was awesome tonight (Baines was off-colour unusually).

Yes we should have bought on Kone or Jelavic for Lukaku with 30 mins to go. He was a bit knacked in the second half.
