Very good first half, poor second half. But we are 4th in the league, having really thrown away some silly points, and at times not seemed to get out of third gear. What is exciting is two things. Firstly, we can only improve. Secondly, I think Martinez will be demanding improvement, and not rest until he gets it.
Deep down, as big a fan Moyes as I was/am, I never really felt we'd get into the top 4. Under Martinez, I think we really can (and have been saying such for a long time). This is partly down to the top 4's weakness. But he has done very well.
It's nice to win a game when you have played poorly for half of it. Room for improvement, but we're 4th!

Opportunity knocks!

Arsenal - probably exceeding expectations, genuine contenders for Champions
Liverpool - exceeding expectations, likely contenders for top 4
Tottenham - looking good so far, but usually flatter to deceive
Chelsea - "the special one V2" not convincing - neither the manager nor the team, top 4 not a given
Man City - away form suggests CL qualification questionable
Man United - jury out, usual Moyes slow start or totally out of his depth?
Everton - recent history of "punching above weight" - this year far "heavier" in terms of squad strength and with a manager far more willing to give it a go.

My prediction for top positions next May:

Arsenal
Tottenham
Everton
Chelsea
Liverpool
Man City
Man United
