When you lose 3-1 and actually feel like it's one of your better performances this season. That's Everton that.
Unfortunately Tim we are an average team with average players and an average manager.
We are where we are.
We did play well today. But not well enough. Our manager again did not use our squad well enough when we needed a change.
I don't think we played well. We didn't make the most of their obvious defensive problems and we're wide open ourselves.
That city team will concede loads, I'm sure of it.
There's no excuse for the mess we find ourselves in this year. The manager is out of his depth and certain players are underperforming by frightening amounts. He deserves to be replaced far more than the three who went before him.
It's hard to take this year. It was our chance but we've blown it. Brands has to take responsibility too and explain why he thought no centre half was delivered.
We've lost our soul. I see very little to be proud of in our club anymore. We're a byword for squander and underachievement. But no one seems to care.
Hmm, I'm not sure on that.
We did make the most of their defensive issues. To say we didn't cause them problems wouldn't be true. Their goalkeeper made three top-class saves.
Of course we could have been better but we went toe-to-toe with them and they're a better side. You can say 'wide open' defensively but that's because we were pushing up to try and do them the other way. They are an incredible team and they showed it.
They brought on three of the best 15 players in world football when it was 1-1. They have those options. We don't.
It's not an excuse but losing to City - this City team, even with their problems at the back - is not the end of the world. At least because we showed more grit and determination and intent than in most games this season.
It's not good enough. Burnley's a must-win. Everyone involved in the club and playing side, from DoF down, needs to sharpen up. Silva needs to be told to be more proactive. If he isn't, he'll have to go. And Brands has to have a long hard look at his dealings this summer because frankly they haven't been up to scratch leaving the squad in such short supply in certain areas.
We've been wide open all season. It wasn't just today. That Bournemouth game still makes me squirn for how ridiculous we set up.
Silva can't find the balance. His selections make no sense. His results are worse than Koeman and Martinez. Why is he getting preferential treatment?
Marco Silva teams are poor in both boxes. The sign of an utterly incompetent coach.
He is still playing like we have Gana.
Which was always going to be the main problem of selling him.
The 'poor in both boxes' line. He can't finish chances for the team, at the end of the day. I understand what you're saying but he doesn't make DCL miss from a yard out.
Exposed because Pickford cant focus for 90 bloody minutes. Gone in January to Marine or somewhere.Hmm, I'm not sure on that.

He plays the same every week and talks a load of nonsense about aggression. Yet we have no aggression whatsoever. Like how does Gabriel Jesus get a free header 6 yards out???
I see nothing to suggest this improves under Silva. Next week gonna be properly grim. You simply cannot succeed in this league if you need to take so many risks in defence to enable you to carry an attacking threat. There's nothing to applaud in being wide open and not competing physically.
Plucky little everton syndrome needs to be consigned to the dustbin. There's nothing to be proud of in this squad of players. They are underachieving and letting down the club and fans every week.

Oh Tim mate. Look at that cross.
Look, I get it, but De Bruyne has done that to better defences than ours and will continue to do so. That's not aggression, that's unplayable.
I am not defending Silva. He is not in my good books. If it does not change and quickly then he has to go. But he is not the only one to blame. The players and Brands have to take their fair share of the responsibility.
