Kenny obviously MOM for us, possibly overall too. Can't think of anybody who had a real influence on the game throughout. Laporte obviously was in a defensive unit that got a clean sheet, plus he got a goal. So probably him, or Kenny for playing far above expectation.

Well that was just disappointing rather than disgraceful.

We are shocking away and our remaining home fixtures are; Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Burnley.

I think we will be spared European football next season.

Feels a bit like the Chelsea league cup defest under Unnnnsy where we lost but loads of the players get bizarre rave reviews.

Stones, in midfield, coasted through that game entirely unchallenged by our midfield 3.
I think the whole City team coasted, didnt get out of second gear apart from to commit the odd foul, we played well, but i think it was as well as City let us

Thought Kenny did well although covering on two men on his own Every time must have been frustrating, imagine doing that and the winger not even dropping back . For me though Davies gave us Energy and effort and thought he edged it but not by much .

Guardiola disagreed.

I agree though, we offer zero going forward now. That's our issue. We just didn't offer a threat. We toiled and worked hard but created one chance.

I'm not gonna be a hypocrite and say I'm upset, I'm not in any way arsed that we lost. We at least got a decent performance but we really are toothless. And that's as much on the powers that be as it is on Silva and the players.

At the back, we looked generally more solid. City never really got their game clicking into gear in the final third, a few moves aside.

But set pieces again. And while Silva has taken responsibility and said (again) that it needs work, he's right to say it's now a mental thing with the players. And I'm sorry, but that's on these players as well. Nobody else can stop them being fragile other than them. What Silva should do is offer protection, as much as possible, in terms of picking a new way etc, but he seems to be trying several different ways. The common denominator is the same players making the same errors.

The performance was more committed than has been recently (a disgrace I feel the need to type that).

The game felt like a 'brave loss', the one you might see where a non-league side play a Premier League side in the FA Cup and aren't humiliated but at no point look like winning. It reminded me a lot of our narrow losses to one of the top sides during Walter Smith's reign.

The defending from set plays is embarrassing and I don't see it improving under Silva, he's either too stubborn or incapable of rectifying the issue.

It's all very predictable and a tad depressing presently.
