But....recruitment has got better under Alardyce...and Siggi will earn his corn next season when he's fit.

Yes, it does appear to have improved from the disastrous recruitment under Koeman, but none of us here know why & exactly who’s involved. It’s easy to blame Koeman for the weak negotiation of Sigurdsson, but that deal had all the same hallmarks of the ones to get Koeman himself and to get Allardyce! No plan B, no balls to walk away, we basically caved & paid way over the odds.

I would expect Sam to bring some smarts & know which palms to grease (sadly a necessity in football), but we don’t want him as manager next season. Do we?

No we don’t!!

We should have won. Was boring for a good portion of the game mind, we saw how we could open them up when we actually went for it.

Thought Walcott was really poor too.

Been to around 40 or so derbys and that was one of the flattest. Allardyce and this squad have sucked the life out of Everton. He went for 0-0 against their 2nd string which comprised one full back making virtually his seasons debut and the other a dodgy centre half playing out of position.
What on Earth is that tactic of playing Baines pushed in alongside the centre back and Bolasie becoming a makeshift left-back? Not a lover of Baines but him and Bolasie were hung out to dry today being played out of position. The manager does it regular to player....take DCL for example. And he does it so that there’s always a scapegoat.
Don't think he's trying to create scapegoats Tony. I think it's just a natural bi-product of his poor management.

What do you mean 'Dream on'? WAlcott is an upgrade on a lot of the squad, Tosun is a goalscorer, although personally I have doubts about his lack of pace. 'Dream on' is simply not a contribution to the discussion, its just cyber graffiti.

So now you're implying graffit can have no intrinsic value?
You're right abot Tosun having zero pace. But if you think Walcott rocked up here for any other reason than because it's world cup year and he needed to make sure he was playing regularly, then dream on. He'll be on his way ASAP (injuries permitting). Wildly over-rated in any case.

That felt like a loss yesterday. There was no real passion and urgency until Calvert Lewin and Gueye came on. We are infected by too many players that are 'too nice' Bolasie, Walcott, Jags, Baines and Keane. Even Rooney has tempered his 'desire'. He was having a go at Coleman yesterday I don't know what for. Coleman's will to win and aggression is sorely missing by far too many of our players. This changed when Calvert Lewin and Gueye came on and we then started to show up. Why he brought on Beningime when we needed another striker on to get in the box was bewildering. As was taking off Davies and not Walcott. Missed opportunity.

Normally hate this kind of result against them, but lets face it, we were all expecting a full on nightmare of a public beating, so I can't really understand todays fume as regardless of the team they put out, we are utterly dreadful and I never expect a win anywhere anymore.

Been away for a couple of days visiting relatives so missed the game live and MOTD!!!! Caught up now, very disappointing.

Very annoying Klopp fields a b team and Allardyce as per usual plays for a 0 - 0 draw unless a late goal can be snatched. That is his mentality does not know how to set up a team to attack and win, should have gone at them from the start. Mind playing Rooney, Jags, and Bolasie, will BFS never learn???
