Besic has been Jekyll and Hyde - one minute moving the ball quickly with one twos, then the next slowing down the play unnecessarily.

Joel cannot close down a ball on an angle. Did the exact thing against Krasnodar.

devoid of any quality from either team imo. our control a lot of the time is utterly terrible. naismith has looked very off the pace, why can't we get barkley on for him? just have a feeling after hat kane did, it's barkley's day to do the same.

Keep playing like this and with that cheap dancer to come they'll eventually score. Need to test Sakho and Can. They're clearly their weak links. Barkley for Naismith first thing in the second half. Lennon needs to come on some point as well to give some width and drag the defence wide so it opens space in the middle to thread balls to Rom.

If Naismith goes off i'd rather Lennon comes on and goes wide with Lukaku moving into the middle.

Don't have much hope of Barkley doing anything if he plays wide or as a forward really.

Then, if we're still not winning after about 70-75 mins swap Besic or McCarthy for Barkley and let him come from deep.

Martinez playing the central amorphous blob formation again. The team looks pretty crap and I can't see us creating anything, but hopefully I am wrong.

I haven't been far wrong so far. But here comes Barkley at least, because another central midfielder is just the thing we need.
