Should have committed everyone forward and gotten torn apart on the counter... They played for a draw, we played for a draw and surprise surprise it was a draw...

a) Robles barely made a save (not one you wouldn't expect him to)
b) we had the best chance of the game
c) if we had lost today and Wednesday you would all have been calling for martinez head (though many seem to enjoy doing so a little too much)

I know we should be 'pleased' with a draw in a derby, but it was just the manner in which it happened which has really pi-ssed me off. Shockingly low on confidence and absolutely clueless.

It wasn't a bad result and to be honest with our history against the RS I'd be OK with 2 draws against them almost every year. However watching this the reality finally hit me that we are going to do everything in our power to hold our position over trying to make a run up the table. And maybe that's the smart thing, we might need to be pragmatic and get to 40 asap, I don't know.

It just kind of hurts because of expectations. I wasn't expecting 4th mind you, just to compete for it and be there at the end and at least get another top 7 Euro spot. That being said you know what I'd be happy with 12th if it means a nice long run in Europa, neglecting the league for Europa probably really helped Fulham and Boro (That being said I'll also be fuming if we go out 1-1 on pens/away goals playing like this in the round of 32/16).

Naismith was excellent tonight, but I give up explaining why he was. He's the boo boy because he's not Belgian apparently.
I lost count of the amount of times he gave it away around their box, attacks constantly breaking down through poor passing.

And people wonder why we create very little, Naismith's link play is just not good enough, he was not excellent at all, he has a negative effect on our chances created.

You thought naismith had a good game? Possibly the worst player on the pitch today along with barry.

Gave the ball away so many times and not one positive pass.

Lukaku should expect at least 1 pass into feet from the attacking midfielder...instead he has naismith passing into RS players and lukaku has to run his socks off all game.

He won free kicks all night long, riled them up, attached himself to the man when the ball was lofted up and made a nuisance of himself, closed down the opposition in good areas. Did everything an industrious defensive striker should.

In fact, couldn't have asked any more. My mind is boggled by people criticising him tonight, just bizarre.

Naismith gets a pass for defending that Gerrard bicycle kick over the goal. Because I don't want to think about the orgasm that the media would have had if that goes in and they win 1-0.

"defensive striker" is one superb bit of doublethink.
